CATHERINE OF SIENA CATHOLIC SCHOOL The first graders at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Kennesaw, Georgia took a trip back in time to the Colonial days. The students spent the morning experiencing what life was like when America was brand new. They came to school dressed up in Colonial costumes and took part in centers designed around the time period. They made their own butter, created dolls out of burlap sacks, and wrote with quill pens and ink. They also made and decorated their own marbles, designed spinning tops, and played games with a yo-yo, and a stick and hoop. They had a great time learning to sew and designing their own quilt squares. Parent volunteers did a wonderful job making a silhouette for each student as a keepsake. Every child left with a bag full of wonderful memories of the day they spent in the Colonial times.
