Overview, Purpose & Objectives Overview and purpose

Demonstrate understanding of some expressions in Spanish followed by infinitives.

Objectives: TSWBAT use verbs (deber, tener

que), indirect object pronouns + toca (me/te,les,nos,os, les) and Spanish expressions (hay que, hacer el favor de, favor de) followed by infinitives.

Expressions with Infinitives When a verb is simply stating an activity…

We want “to play a game” Queremos jugar un juego.

Instead of actually doing that action… We are playing a game. Estamos jugando un juego.

You don’t need to conjugate it. We want to play a game. Nosotros queremos jugar un juego.

There is already a verb that states the action and matches the subject. Querer -> queremos

Debes darle de comer al perro. Tener que (To have to)

Tienes que poner la mesa. Hay que (One must)

Hay que barrer el piso del baño. Haz el favor de (Do the favor of)

Haz el favor de sacudir los muebles de la sala. You can add a reflexive pronoun to indicate WHO wants the

person to do the favor for.. HazME el favor Do ME the favor of…
