The calendar of school deadlines was created as a tool for faculty, staff, students, and parents to manage the important external deadlines (as established by the IBO) as well as internal deadlines (as established by the IB coordinator in conjunction with the IB faculty and administration). This calendar is reviewed yearly, first to verify that is conforms to any deadlines established by the IBO, then by the IB Coordinator to identify any potential conflicts or overburdening of the students with major assignments due at the same time, and finally by the IB faculty. A hardcopy of the updated calendar is provided to all IB students (both incoming and returning) in June preceding the new school year so that students can adequately plan out their next year of study and have an accurate vision of the workload they will have in that year. Hardcopies are also provided to all IB teachers, who are encouraged to consult it regularly. An electronic copy of the calendar is uploaded to both the school’s IB website (http://www.eastiron.org/staff/cblack/Current_IB_students.htm) and the Eastridge IB wikispace (http://eastridgeibwiki.wikispaces.com/), where all assignments for all IB classes are listed daily for easy student access. The calendar of deadline is reviewed regularly with students during our monthly IB student meetings.
