Ms. Fullers Message Dear Durbin families, Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! This is going to be an AMAZING year and we are so thankful to welcome back returning students and our brand new families. We are just over 870 students at the time of writing this article, growing every day. I thank everyone for their patience and support as we work out the process for drop-off in the morning. I am in contact with our PSA and Resource officers to help ensure a safe and timely drop-off. We also understand this is the beginning of the year and families are learning the rou- tines and procedures so we know things will get quicker as students learn how to get out of their cars and walk quickly to class. I want to ensure families we have students and staff ready to help, please do not hold up the line by waiting to see your child enter the double doors. If you would like to walk them up to the double doors please feel free to park and use the cross- walk to safely get them there. Also, for parent pick-up please be sure you have your car tag hanging on your mirror with the last name and grade level for the students you are picking up. This makes things go much smoother and quicker, as we dont have to stop or check identification. The car tags can be picked up in the front office. We cant wait to see you next week at our Curriculum Chats! These are opportunities for you to see what your children will be learning in the grade level this year and how your childs class operates.Students in grades 3-5 will have their night on Tuesday, August 27 th , beginning at 6:30 pm. There will be 2 sessions one at 6:30 and a repeat session at 7 for those families that have students in multiple grade levels. We will do the same thing on Thursday night, August 29 th for grades K-2 when we will again run two sessions, one at 6:30 and one at 7pm. Pre-K Curriculum Chats will be in classrooms on Thursday night at 6:00. Also, dont forget—Wednesday September 4 th is our PTO ice cream social here at DCE! 6:30. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. See you soon! Angie Fuller Ms. Angie Fuller, Principal What is Peanut Allergy Aware? Ms. Fuller’s Message Dear Durbin families,

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!

We also understand this is the beginning of the year and families are learning the rou-tines and procedures so we know things will get quicker as students learn how to get out of their cars and walk quickly to class. I want to ensure families we have students and staff ready to help, please do not hold up the line by waiting to see your child enter the double doors. If you would like to walk them up to the double doors please feel free to park and use the cross-walk to safely get them there.

Also, for parent pick-up please be sure you have your car tag hanging on your mirror with the last name and grade level for the students you are picking up. This makes things go much smoother and quicker, as we don’t have to stop or check identification. The car tags can be picked up in the front office.

We can’t wait to see you next week at our Curriculum Chats! These are opportunities for you to see what your children will be learning in the grade level this year and how your child’s class “operates.” Students in grades 3-5 will have their night on Tuesday, August 27

th, beginning at

6:30 pm. There will be 2 sessions one at 6:30 and a repeat session at 7 for those families that have students in multiple grade levels. We will do the same thing on Thursday night, August 29

th for grades K-2 when we will again run two sessions, one at 6:30 and one at 7pm. Pre-K

Curriculum Chats will be in classrooms on Thursday night at 6:00.

Also, don’t forget—Wednesday September 4th is our PTO ice cream social here at DCE! 6:30.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. See you soon!
