This is a true story about a Vermont farm boy named Wilson Bentley. Wilson loved snowflakes. His dream was to take pictures of snowflakes but they always melted.

As he grew older, he acquired a microscope with a camera. He spent his life taking beautiful snowflake pictures and learning more about them. Wilson was a self-taught scientist. We learn about his life and snowflake science. Although many thought Wilson was a little odd, we realize that just like snowflakes, no two people are alike.

and sends him to bed without any supper. But unexpectedly a forest grows in his bedroom and Max is taken away to a land of Wild Things. Fortunately, the Wild Things do not

eat Max; instead they make him their king. And lucky Max is allowed to continue his romp. Will Max return to his

mother and finally eat his dinner?

Peter has found a rare treasure, a pair of old, beat-up motorcycle goggles. He and his best friend Archie are on their way to Archie’s front stoop with their prize when they run into a neighborhood gang that wants those goggles, too. What the bullies don’t understand is how hard it is to catch two smart boys and one crafty dog.

Al, a janitor who lives in a dingy apartment on Manhattan's West Side with his dog Eddie. One day, a funny-looking bird sticks its huge head through Al's bathroom window and proposes a journey to a terrific place where there are "no worries" and "no cares." Al agrees and takes Eddie with him. What the two experience is paradise--butterflies, wildflowers, chirping birds and cool streams--but it soon gives way to the uncertainties of being away from home, and a moral: that home is where the heart is.

This book retells the segment from Spenser's "The Faerie Queene" in which George, the Red Cross Knight, slays the dreadful dragon that has been terrorizing the countryside for years and brings peace and joy to the land.

One Easter morning, Katy and Carl went on an egg hunt through Grandmom's house.

Katy couldn't find anything until she went up to the attic. And there she discovered a

very special set of eggs...Grandmom had painted them when she was a little girl. And now, she hung them from the

branches of a tiny tree -- an Egg Tree!

Deep in the sea there lives a happy school of little fish. Their watery world is full of wonders, but there is also danger, and the little fish are afraid to come out of hiding . . . until Swimmy comes along. Swimmy shows his friends how—with ingenuity and team work—they can overcome any danger.

A bright, science-minded boy goes to the beach equipped to collect

and examine flotsam--anything floating that has been washed

ashore. Bottles, lost toys, small objects of every description are

among his usual finds. But there's no way he could have prepared

for one particular discovery: a barnacle-encrusted underwater

camera, with its own secrets to share . . . and to keep.

When a bus driver takes a break from his route, a very unlikely volunteer springs up to take his place — a pigeon! But you’ve never met one like this before. As he pleads, wheedles, and begs his way through the book, children will love being able to answer back and decide his fate. In his hilarious picture book debut, popular cartoonist Mo Willems perfectly captures a preschooler’s temper tantrum.

“SUPERHERO” ROCK or EGG MONSTERS

YARN WRAPPED BRANCHES

A monochrome town gets a change of color and attitude with the help of a box of yarn and a girl named Annabelle. From the seemingly endless box of Extra Yarn Annabelle knits clothing for everyone around her, tempering the ill-tempered, and creating beautifully patterned warmth for people, animals, and objects, alike. When a greedy clothes-loving archduke tries to buy--then steal--the box for himself, he discovers that ill-gotten gains bear no fruit--or in this case, yarn.

While the other field mice work to gather grain and nuts for winter,

Frederick sits on a sunny rock by himself. “I gather sun rays for the cold

dark winter days,” he tells them. Another day he gathers “colors,” and

then “words.” And when the food runs out, it is Frederick, the dreamer

and poet, whose endless store of supplies warms the hearts of his fellow

mice, and feeds their spirits during the darkest winter days.

Trixie, Daddy, and Knuffle Bunny take a trip to the

neighborhood Laundromat. But the exciting adventure

takes a dramatic turn when Trixie realizes some bunny

was left behind. Using a combination of muted black-

and-white photographs and expressive illustrations, this

stunning book tells a brilliantly true-to-life tale about

what happens when Daddy's in charge and things go

terribly, hilariously wrong.

Officer Buckle is a roly-poly bloke, dedicated to teaching schoolchildren important safety tips, such as never put anything in your ear and never stand on a swivel chair. The problem is, Officer Buckle's school assemblies are dull, dull, dull, and the children of Napville just sleep, sleep, sleep. That is, until Gloria the police dog is invited along!

Vasya Kandinsky was a proper little boy: he studied math and history, he practiced the piano, he sat up straight and was perfectly polite. And when his family sent him to art classes, they expected him to paint pretty houses and flowers —like a proper artist.

But as Vasya opened his paint box and began mixing the reds, the yellows, the blues, he heard a strange sound — the swirling colors trilled like an orchestra tuning up for a symphony! And as he grew older, he continued to hear brilliant colors singing and see vibrant sounds dancing. But was Vasya brave enough to put aside his proper still lifesand portraits and paint . . . music?

Trees are beautiful. They fill up the sky. If

you have a tree, you can climb up its trunk,

roll in its leaves, or hang a swing from one of

its limbs. Cows and babies can nap in the

shade of a tree. Birds can make nests in the

branches. A tree is good to have around. A

tree is nice.

A poignant story of a cute country cottage

that becomes engulfed by the city that

grows up around it. The house has an

expressive face of windows and doors, and

even the feelings of a person, so she’s sad

when she’s surrounded by the dirty, noisy

city’s hustle and bustle: “She missed the

field of daisies / and the apple trees dancing

in the moonlight.” Fortunately, there’s a

happy ending, as the house is taken back to

the country where she belongs.
