WHO ARE THE FOLLOWING SHOWS “TARGETED” TO AND WHAT KIND OF

COMPANIES WOULD PAY FOR ADS TO BE AIRED DURING THE SHOW?

Target Market

Page 3: Cahpter 1 final copy

Desperate Housewives are targeted towards women because there’s a story that females are engaged to learn about, but you would think it could be targeted towards men for the fact there are beautiful women, but males don’t care for petty gossip. And feminine product advertisements would be aired or others shows on that network like make up, or anti aging crème etc...

Page 4: Cahpter 1 final copy

How I met your Mother is targeted towards young adults or adults because it is a comedy show about 5 “some what” grown ups trying to figure out their lives. Since it’s CBS the ads would be household products or information like news.

Family guy target market is for teens and young adults with a sense of humor because seniors probably don’t want to watch people getting hurt, or hear coarse language. Advertisement companies like safety supplies or paint like RONA or Wal-mart products for food.

This show “Jersey Shore” is directed for a teenage audience because it’s a reality show that shows immaturity, gossip and how these late 20 year olds act to weird situations. Teen advertisements like laptops, or makeup (eg. Covergirl).

Supply and Demand

WHAT HAPPENS TO PRICES OF ITEMS WHEN THE FOLLOWING

THINGS OCCUR?

Page 8: Cahpter 1 final copy

An Ice storm hits and the power goes out

Power generators?Prices go up because what their selling (generators) is in demand, and more people want their appliances to work, even though it’s not ethical.

Page 9: Cahpter 1 final copy

Boxing Day?

Retail ItemsPrices will go down because it’s a certain sale that companies want to sell more products because after Christmas, a store could be over stocked and are getting new items for the following year.

Roses on Valentine’s Day

The prices of roses and valentine cards go up because it’s a day to show you appreciate a person and roses are a beautiful gift to give, to show you care. But it’s a one time a year that valentines is, so prices will shoot down after the special day.

Fans and Air Conditioners in July

Prices sky rocket because in the summer time at the beginning (July) people would like to be cooled down after spending a lot of time in the scorching heat, and it’s a way to keep the home, where you are comfortable, cool and relaxing.

Marketing Mix (4p’s)Compare McDonalds to Bravo to Blue Star

Quality (service

and product)

Price Place Promotion

McDonalds They are slow, but they have a time limit on a order. The product taste really good, but it’s very unhealthy, so it can make some people not want to eat it.

The reason the price is pretty cheap, is the fact their food is unhealthy.

There are locations everywhere in many different places, so it is very convenient. The one closest to centennial is on Niagara Street.

The have ads on the Television all the time, during the morning for breakfast, lunch, and supper, and a snack/ desert .

Bravo They had a good quality of food, and the service, but depending on the day, the workers would be slow.

Their prices are reasonable for the quantity you receive and for the quality.

Niagara Street . They had a great location for their service, but it’s not a franchise.

They have signs, but they didn’t advertise as much as they should have because I didn’t know who they were before.

Blue Star There service the well planned out because they easily seat people down and take their order and are helpful, the quality of the food is good because of the taste.

The prices are reasonable because they serve a large amount of food with great looking quality.

King street in Welland, there is only one Blue star that I know of and it’s because it’s somewhere close to me. But the location isn’t noticeable unless you have been told about where and how the service is.

They do not advertise as well as they should have, there are few signs hanging around Welland to come and try the food.
