unpublished.
This is earliest available rare picture of the second Cag annual show 1952 at CJ hall today NGMA.
Cag is located near famous Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus formerly known as Victoria Terminus (V.T.) railway station. Mumbai’s main General Post Office ( GPO) is just opposite to the building called MALHORTA HOUSE where the office is situated.

The original documents showing “Shop & Establishment Act 1948” is not applicable to the Cag, The change of name from “Commercial to Communication 27th Feb.1964 “
The is document mentioning of rent being paid to the then owner H.H.MarthandaVarma Elayaraja of Travancore Trust in the building then known as INDIA HOUSE BUILDING.The original letter of Mr. R.R.Kulkarni then hon. Secretary of Cag requesting the then President to change the name from Commercial Artist to Communication Artist’ Guild, a resolution made in 1‐3‐1983.
Please note the clear wording i.e. Communication Artist’ Guild and not Communication Arts’ Guild as known today which must be clarified.
