CADET® HM: sample submission guidelines This assay is available directly to veterinary professionals. Please review the following guidelines on submission of clinical specimens for analysis with CADET® HM. For any questions, please contact us at [email protected]. It is critical that the samples submitted sample are representative of the suspected tumor. Specimens may be submitted for analysis in any of the following formats. If the available sample format is not listed, please contact [email protected] or call 919-996-0174 for assistance PRIOR to submitting the sample:
• Cytological smears: provide a minimum of two slides representing the suspected tumor. Slides must not be coverslipped.
• Aspirated cells: on the sample submission form, please indicate the nature of any buffer solution added.
• Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues: provide a minimum of five thick (25micron) sections, either mounted on slides or curled in a sterile plastic tube. Entire blocks may also be submitted, and can be returned upon receipt of a supplemental shipping fee (please contact [email protected]).
Purchase of CADET® HM includes the analysis of specimens from a single anatomical site. Should you wish to evaluate additional anatomical sites from the same dog, please indicate the total number of sites to be tested where indicated on the sample submission form. Each specimen must be marked clearly to indicate the corresponding site (site 1, site 2 etc).
Samples must be labeled clearly with the patient’s name, and must be shipped in a robust, leakproof and crushproof container with suitable protective packing material. The mailing address is provided below. Please download and complete the CADET® HM sample submission form, and submit a printed copy with the sample to Sentinel Biomedical, using the address provided below. Samples cannot be processed in the absence of a fully completed submission form.
