The equipment is only intended for HOME USE and is NOT INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL AND/

OR STUDIO FACILITIES USE.

Contact TROJAN with any questions regarding this classification. It is recommended that all users of TROJAN be

informed of the following information prior to use.

STEP 2: HANDLEBAR POST ASSEMBLY

• ConnecttheMiddleComputerWire(25)intheHandlebarPost

(13) to the Lower Computer Wire (24) in the Main Frame (1).

• InserttheHandlebarPost(13)intotheMainFrame(1).Secure

using four Allen Screws (27) and four Curved Washers (26).

STEP 3: HANDLEBAR ASSEMBLY

Instructions for assembly• Unpackthecartonandusingthepartslistcheckthatallpartsareaccountedfor.

• Donotdisposeofthepackagingmaterialuntilassemblyiscompleted.

• AnAllenKeyisprovidedforuseinassembly.

4. ASSEMBLY STEPS

STEP 1: STABILISER ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:Ensure that cables are not damagedduring assembly or when tightening screws.

• AttachtheHandlebar(14)totheFrontPost(13),securingwithoneClamp (36), one Allen Bolt (16), one Cover for Clamp (37) and the T Type Knob (38).

• InserttheHandPulseWire(28)throughtheGrommet(29)andinsert it through the hole in the Handlebar Post (13). Pull the Hand Pulse Wire (28) through the hole at the top of the Handlebar Post (13) and insert the Grommet (29) into the upright. Connect the Hand Pulse Wire (28) to the Upper Hand Pulse Wire (34). Connect the Middle Computer Wire (25) to the Upper Computer Wire (35).

• AttachtheComputer(15)ontothebracketoftheFrontPost(13),securing it using four Screws (20) which are pre-assembled on the

backofComputer(15).

STEP 4: SEAT ASSEMBLY

• AttachtheSeat(12)totheSeatPost(11),securingitusingthree

Flat Washers (30), three Spring Washers (31) and three Nylon

Locknuts(32)whicharepre-assembledontheseat.

• TaketheQuickReleaseKnob(33)offMainFrame(1)theninsert

the Seat Post Assembly (11) into the Main Frame (1) and secure

intothedesiredpositionusingtheQuickReleaseKnob(33).

STEP 5: PEDAL ASSEMBLY

• AttachtheRightandLeftPedalStrapstotheLeftandRightPedals

(9/10).

Note: The end with four adjustable holes must be set outwards.

• AttachtheLeftandRightPedals(9/10)totheCrankArms(22).

Note:ThePedalsandCrankArmsaremarkedwithR&L.TheRight

Pedal(R)shouldbethreadedinaclockwisedirectionandtheLeft

Pedal(L)shouldbethreadedinacounter-clockwisedirection.

STEP 6: ELECTRICAL SUPPLY• PlugtheAdapterintotheAdapterJack.

5. COMPUTER FUNCTIONSCOMPUTER INSTRUCTIONSKey FunctionsSTART/STOP: 1.StartsandPausesworkouts. 2. Starts the body fat measurement and quits the body fat program. 3.Holdthebuttonfor3secondswillresetallfunctionvaluetozero.Operates only when in stop mode. DOWN: Decreasesvalueofselectedworkoutparameter: TIME,DISTANCE,RPM,SPEED,ODO,DISTANCE.Duringtheworkout,itwill also decrease the resistance load.UP: Increasesvalueofselectedworkoutparameter.Duringtheworkout,itwill increase the resistance load.ENTER: Toinputdesiredvalueorworkoutmode.RECOVERY: Press to enter into the Recovery function when the computer is displaying heart rate values. Hold for 1 minute and Recovery will determine the users fitness level. There are 6 Levels (1-6): F1 is the best and F6 is the worst.MODE: PresstoswitchdisplayfromRPMtoSPEED,ODOtoDISTduringworkout.

WORKOUT PARAMETERS: TIME / DISTANCE / CALORIES /AGENote: Some parameters are not adjustable in certain programs. Time and Distance can not be set up at the same time. Onceaprogramhasbeenselected,pressingENTERwillmaketheTIMEparameterflash.UsingtheUPorDOWNkeyyoumayselectthedesiredtimevalue.PressENTERtoinputthevalue.Theflashingpromptwillmovetothenextparameter.ContinuetouseUPorDOWNkey.PressSTART/STOPtostartworkout.

thenextdata.

• 30yearswillflashandAGEcanbeadjustedusingtheUPorDOWNkey.PressENTERtosavevalue.

• PlacebothhandsonthehandpulsegripsandpressSTART/STOPtostartmeasurement.After15secondsthe

display will show your Body Fat %, BMR, BMI and BODY TYPE.

BMR (Basal Metabolism Ratio): Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) shows the number of calories your body needs to operate. This doesn’t account for any activity, it’s simply the energy needed to sustain a heartbeat, breathing and normal body temperature. It measures the body at rest, not sleep,

at room temperature.

BMI(BodyMassIndex): BMI is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

Press START/STOP KEY to return the main Display.

BODY TYPES:

There are 9 body types divided according to the FAT % calculated.

• Type1isfrom5%to9%.

• Type2isfrom10%to14%.

• Type3isfrom15%to19%.

SelectTARGETH.R.usingtheUPorDOWNkeythenpressingENTERKEY.The1stparameter“Time”willflashandthe

valuecanbeadjustedusingtheUPorDOWNkey.PressENTERtosavevalueandmoveontothenextparametertobe

adjusted.

Note: •Iftheusersetsupatargettimeforaworkout,thenthenextparameterofDistancecannotbeadjusted.

• If the measured Pulse is above or below the set TARGET H.R (± 5), the computer will adjust the resistance load

automatically.Thecomputerwillcheck,approximatelyevery20seconds,andadjusttheresistanceloadby1upor

down, as required. Each resistance load represents 2 levels of loading.

• Whenoneoftheworkoutparameterscountsdowntobezero,thecomputerwillsoundawarningandstop

theworkoutautomatically.PresstheSTARTkeytocontinuetheworkouttoreachanyunfinishedworkout

parameters.

5. HEART RATE CONTROl PROgRAM

There are 2 selections for target pulse:

• P16-60%TARGETH.R=60%of(220-AGE)

• P17-85%TARGETH.R=85%of(220-AGE)

SelectoneoftheHEARTRATECONTROLPROGRAMSusingtheUPorDOWNkeythenpressENTER.The1st

parameter“Time”willflashandthevaluecanbeadjustedusingtheUPorDOWNkey.PressENTERtosavevalue

andmoveontothenextparametertobeadjusted.

Note: •Iftheusersetsupatargettimeforaworkout,thenthenextparameterofDistancecannotbeadjusted.Continue

throughalldesiredparameters,pressingSTART/STOPtostartworkout.

•IfthemeasuredPulseisaboveorbelowthesetTARGETH.R(±5),thecomputerwilladjusttheresistanceload

key.PressENTERtosavevalueandmoveontothenextparametertobeadjusted.

Note•Iftheusersetsupatargettimeforaworkout,thenthenextparameterofDistancecannotbeadjusted.Continue

throughalldesiredparameters,pressingSTART/STOPtostartworkout.Afteruserhasfinishedsettingupthe

desiredparameter,LEVEL1willflash.UsetheUPorDOWNkeytoadjustthenpressENTERuntilfinished(10

timesintotal).PressSTART/STOPtostartworkout.

•Whenoneoftheworkoutparameterscountsdowntobezero,thecomputerwillsoundawarningandstopthe

WEIGHT TRAININGAlongwithaerobicexercisingwhichhelpsgetridofandkeepofftheexcessfatthatourbodiescanstore,weighttrainingisanessentialpartoftheexerciseroutineprocess.Weighttraininghelpstone,buildandstrengthenmuscle.Ifyouareworkingaboveyourtargetzone,youmaywanttodoalessamountofreps.

7. CONDITIONING GUIDELINES

Howyoubeginyourexerciseprogramdependsonyourphysicalcondition.Ifyouhavebeeninactiveorareseverely

overweight,youmuststartslowlyandincreaseyourtimeontheequipment;afewminutesperworkout.Initially,youmay

beabletoexerciseonlyforafewminutesinyourtargetzone,however,youraerobicfitnesswillimproveoverthenextsix

toeightweeks.Don’tbediscouragedifittakeslonger.It’simportanttoworkatyourownpace.Ultimately,you’llbeable

toexercisecontinuouslyfor30minutes.Thebetteryouraerobicfitness,theharderyouwillhavetoworktostayinyour

targetzone.Pleaseremembertheseessentials:

•Haveyourdoctorreviewyourtraininganddietprogramstoadviseyouofaworkoutroutineyoushouldadopt.

•Beginyourtrainingprogramslowlywithrealisticgoalsthathavebeensetbyyouandyourdoctor.

•Monitoryourpulsefrequently.Establishyourtargetheartratebasedonyourageandcondition.

EXERCISE INTENSITYTomaximizethebenefitsofexercising,itisimportanttoexercisewiththe

proper intensity. The proper intensity level can be found by using your heart

rateasaguide.Foreffectiveaerobicexercise,yourheartrateshouldbe

maintainedatalevelbetween65%and85%ofyourmaximumheartrate

asyouexercise.Thisisknownasyourtargetzone.Youcanfindyourtarget

zoneinthetablebelow.

Duringthefirstfewmonthsofyourexerciseprogram,keepyourheartratenearthelowendofyourtargetzoneasyou

exercise.Afterafewmonths,yourheartratecanbeincreasedgraduallyuntilitisnearthemiddleofyourtargetzoneas

youexercise.

Tomeasureyourheartrate,stopexercisingbutcontinuemovingyourlegsorwalkingaroundandplacetwofingerson

yourwrist.Takeasix-secondheartbeatcountandmultiplytheresultsby10tofindyourheartrate.Forexample,ifyour

six-secondheartbeatcountis14,yourheartrateis140beatsperminute.(Asix-secondscountisusedbecauseyour

heartratewilldroprapidlywhenyoustopexercising.)

Adjusttheintensityofyourexerciseuntilyour

heart rate is at the proper level.

WARM-UP AND COOL-DOWNWORKOUT GUIDELINESEachworkoutshouldincludethefollowingthreeparts:Awarm-up,consistingof5to10minutesofstretchingandlightexercise.Aproperwarm-upincreasesyourbodytemperature,heartrate,andcirculationinpreparationforexercise.Trainingzoneexercise,consistingof20to30minutesofexercisingwithyourheartrateinyourtrainingzone.(Note:Duringthefirstfewweeksofyourexerciseprogram,donotkeepyourheartrateinyourtrainingzonefor longer than 20 minutes).Acool-down,with5to10minutesofstretching.Thiswillincreasetheflexibilityofyourmusclesandwillhelptopreventpost-exerciseproblems.

EXERCISE FREQUENCYTomaintainorimproveyourcondition,planthreeworkoutseachweek,withatleastonedayofrestbetweenworkouts.Afterafewmonthsofregularexercise,youmaycompleteuptofiveworkoutseachweek,ifdesired.Remember,thekeytosuccessismakeexercisearegularandenjoyablepartofyoureverydaylife.

SUGGESTED STRETCHESThe correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you

stretch, never bounce.

1. Toe Touch Stretch

Standwithyourkneesbentslightlyandslowlybendforwardfromyourhips.Allow

yourbackandshoulderstorelaxasyoureachdowntowardyourtoesasfaras

possible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3times.Stretches:Hamstrings,back

ofkneesandback.

2. Hamstring Stretch

Sitwithonelegextended.Bringthesoleoftheoppositefoottowardyouand

restitagainsttheinnerthighofyourextendedleg.Reachtowardyourtoesasfar

aspossible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3timesforeachleg.Stretches:

Hamstrings,lowerbackandgroin.

3. Calf/Achilles Stretch

With one leg in front of the other, reach forward and place your hands against a wall.

Keepyourbacklegstraightandyourbackfootflatonthefloor.Bendyourfrontleg,

leanforwardandmoveyourhipstowardthewall.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.

Repeat 3 times for each leg. To cause further stretching of the achilles tendons, bend

yourbacklegaswell.Stretches:Calves,achillestendonsandankles.

4. Quadriceps Stretch

Withonehandagainstawallforbalance,reachbackandgrasponefootwithyour

otherhand.Bringyourheelasclosetoyourbuttocksaspossible.Holdfor15counts,

thenrelax.Repeat3timesforeachleg.Stretches:Quadricepsandhipmuscles.

5. Inner Thigh Stretch

Sitwiththesolesofyourfeettogetherandyourkneesoutward.Pullyourfeet

towardyourgroinareaasfaraspossible.Holdfor15counts,thenrelax.Repeat3

times. Stretches: Quadriceps and hip muscles.

12. TROJAN 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTYThe Manufacturer hereby provides a warranty to the original purchaser of this product (‘the Consumer’) that this

• Onlyifthefaultcannotberepairedintheconvenienceofyourhome,willtheserviceteamtakethe

faultyproductbacktotheservicecentre.

• Itemsrepairedinourservicecentrewillbereturnedtoyourhomeonanagreeddateandtime.
