In design terms the highlight is the sculptural shaping of the dashboard, with its extensive areas of wood or carbon fibre trim. For all its laid-back personality, the new S 500 delivers sports-car performance. All against a V8 soundscape that you will find hard to forget. You float on an AIRMATIC air suspension system with Adaptive Damping System. There can be few more advanced and at the same time emotionally appealing forms of relaxed travelling.

Such elegance. Such harmony. The outside and the inside become one, blending into an irresistible whole. Our designers call this the “principle of sensual purity”. The result, in this large cabriolet, is an astonishing lightness and sense of dynamism. What finer way can there be of paying homage to the fascination of open-top driving?

The only cabriolet to offer the comfort of an S-Class. In a class of its own when it comes to climate and noise comfort, too: the new S-Class Cabriolet makes open-top driving enjoyable, even when it’s really cold outside or there’s a stormy wind. The optional AIRCAP draught-stop system reduces interior turbulence noticeably, while the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, similarly an option, wraps warm air around your shoulders. The Warmth Comfort package can be added as a further option to allow the heating of the seats, armrests and steering wheel. The fully automatic fabric top meets the most demanding of requirements in terms of noise comfort and can

be opened and closed at speeds of up to 50 km/h. The optimum climate conditions in every driving situation are ensured by the automatic air-conditioning system THERMOTRONIC with intelligent climate control. Whether you’re driving with the roof up or down, intelligently networked driver assistance and safety systems such as DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, as well as a roll-over protection system and headbags, help to ensure that you reach your destination not only in style, but safely.

Exceptional inner qualities.In the interior the new S-Class Cabriolet boasts a sporty, luxurious design idiom, fine materials and maximum high-class appeal. The elegant sweep of the dashboard with its 31.2 cm display, the use of carefully coordinated colours and materials and the high-quality controls all serve to emphasise the exclusivity of the vehicle. A choice of three different types of leather in carefully chosen colour combinations ensures maximum opportunity for individualisation, while systems such as COMAND Online, the touchpad

and Head-up Display offer an unparalleled level of convenience. The ENERGIZING massage function that comes with the Seat Comfort package offers further relief from tension if so required. Depending on your mood, the ambient lighting will set the scene in the interior to suit with a pleasant, indirect light in any one of a choice of seven colours. The exclusive S-Class Cabriolet fragrance “PACIFIC MOOD”, as part of the optional AIR-BALANCE package, will complete the overall sense of wellbeing.

The standard equipment in the new S 500 Cabriolet.The beating heart of the new S 500 Cabriolet, quite literally, is its V8 biturbo engine, the power from which is transferred via the world’s first 9-speed automatic transmission, 9G-TRONIC. All in all, a highly sophisticated drive unit that combines exceptional refinement with remarkable efficiency. A further standard feature here is the LED Intelligent Light

System. Awaiting you in the interior is leather upholstery, comprising leather seats with contrasting topstitching and a dashboard upper section in ARTICO man-made leather. Our own design recommendation: the combination of cavansite blue paintwork, two-tone leather upholstery in porcelain/espresso brown and high-gloss brown burr walnut wood trim.

The highlights of the optional equipment range.The new S-Class Cabriolet can put on an exclusive open-air concert for you, if you so wish, with the help of the Burmester® high-end surround sound system. 23 specially designed loudspeakers, 24 amplifier channels and technology features developed specifically for this system add up to a stunning audio experience. To allow you to enjoy this luxury undis-turbed, you can also opt for the automatic draught-stop system, AIRCAP. Activating the

AIRCAP switch triggers the deployment of a wind deflector above the windscreen and a draught-stop behind the rear-seat head restraints. A further enhancement to the driver’s and front passenger’s comfort is provided by the neck-level heating system AIRSCARF. Air outlets within the head restraints release, as it were, an invisible scarf of warm air that wraps itself around the neck and shoulders.

The equipment lines AMG Line and AMG Line Plus. The AMG Line is a combination of perfectly coordinated elements that add sporty flair and a feeling of exclusivity – from dynamic AMG bodystyling with sporty AMG light-alloy wheels and perforated brake discs through to AMG sports pedals and elegant trim in high-gloss black poplar wood. The sporty look can be intensified by adding the further

select features that come with the AMG Line Plus. These include for example 50.8 cm (20-inch) AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in black with a high-sheen finish, as well as AMG sports seats with a unique V8 upholstery layout and an AMG sports steering wheel in nappa leather.

The new Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet. The new cabriolet from Mercedes-AMG adds a vehicle of exceptional design and driving dynamics to the S-Class family: the performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel drive, in conjunction with the AMG sports suspension based on AIRMATIC, maximises both traction and agility, while the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine with 430 kW (585 hp) and 900 Nm of torque delivers the necessary power and soundtrack. On the exterior the

new Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet reveals its expressive character: its dynamism reflected in the striking AMG design. This includes the AMG front apron with flics in high-gloss black, plus the AMG side sill panels with silver chrome inserts and the AMG rear apron with a high-gloss black insert. AMG forged wheels add further sporty touches.

Take-back of end-of-life vehicles. At the end of its life, you can return your S-Class to us for environment-friendly disposal in accordance with the European Union (EU) End-Of-Life Vehicle Directive. But that day lies a long way off.

A network of vehicle take-back depots and dismantlers has been established to make it as easy as possible for you to return your vehicle. You can leave it at any of these points free of charge and, by doing so, make an important contribution to completing the recycling process and conserving resources.
