DESIGN GUIDANCE:The use af curved rail sections at bridge endsraist be appropriate for the design speed andsite conditions.

MATERIAL NOTES:Use Class “C’ concrete. Use Class ‘C’ (IIPC) if

required elsewhere. All reinforcing rrust be Grade 60.

GENERAL NOTES:The foundations indicated are suitable for mounting

typical concrete bridge barrier type railings. The design resistance is based on the current AASIITObridge railing requirements with the assumption offair to good soil support conditians. Poor soilconditions will require suitably deeper foundations.

See Railing standards far details not shown. The primary use of the curved railing detail is to

avoid the necessity of curved MSGF at the ends ofbridges adjacent to grade intersections.

This detail is intended for use as a guide to unusualroiling anohorage situations but may be inaluded inthe plans, modified as necessary to apply to specificinstallations required on the project.

Payment for railing foundations will be by CY ofClass ‘C” or Class “C’ CHPC) concrete.

The associated bridge roiling will be paid far bythe linear foot which includes the conarete andreinforcement.

Excavation will be considered subsidiary to otherItems.
