Canterbury Fair What an amazing and hugely successful fair we had last Sunday! Despite the showery weather there was a great turn out with everyone having a great time. Thank you and congratulations to convenors Bridget Speed and Marika Fotheringham, and to Fair treasurer Kate Jackson for their passion, enthusiasm and tireless efforts in organising such a great school event. Thank you also to our dedicated and committed parents and staff who volunteered so much of their time on the day and the weeks and months leading up to the Fair. We are very fortunate to have such a generous and highly involved school community supporting all events and activities at CPS. 2018 Staffing and class structures We are currently working through our staffing profile for next year, allocating teachers to classes and strategically placing new staff who will add their talents to our dedicated staff team. We are planning for approximately 600 students in 26 classes across the school. Thank you to those families who have advised us of their intentions to change schools next year. Teachers will soon be placing children into classes for next year. Our teachers have considerable knowledge about their students, not only in an academic sense but also their friendships, support systems, people they relate well to and those they don’t work well with. Additionally, as we have a highly collaborative structure involving shared teaching, several staff will know your child particularly well and the conversations around class placement are intense, well informed and based around finding the best class placement for all students. The students also have input into this process with friendship request lists being developed. David Wells, Principal [email protected]

To the Canterbury Primary Community:
A massive thank you to all the stall coordinators, volunteers, parents, teaching staff, office staff, sponsors, donators, suppliers and everyone else who contributed and attended the 2017 Fair.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together for a fun family day. There is no doubt it takes an enormous effort from our community to make this event run.
On Sunday, we watched with enjoyment as the kids laughed, ate, rode, ate more, got haunted, bid, shopped, were beautified and caught up with friends. All of them enormously proud that this event was at their own school. This is their Fair and they love it.
We have an amazing school community and we should all take a moment to celebrate being a part of it. We hope you all had a fabulous day, thank you again to everyone for all your efforts.
