Free Informatics Maturity Matrix Report Focuses on BetterUse of Data Wondering how your institution measures up in collecting, understanding, andusing data to make decisions? Turn to Facilities Informatics for guidance.

At APPA, we see Facilities Informatics as bringingfacilities, information technology, and managementpractices together to achieve betterfacilities/operations. Facilities Informatics involvesapplying information technology to facilitate thecreation and subsequent use of facilitiesrelated data, information, and knowledge. The new APPA FacilitiesInformatics Maturity Matrix Technical Report helpscharacterize the nature of Facilities Informatics andthe process by which an organization improves andmatures its ability to gather, understand, and applydata in decisionmaking.

The report is the first product to come out of discussions at the April 2015 APPAThought Leaders symposium, which led to August 2015 meetings of a WorkGroup (under the auspices of the APPA Standards and Codes Council) to studyand develop a potential standard for Facilities Informatics. The Work Groupanticipates further products as work continues. The report is free to APPA members. For the full report as a PDF, click on thecover graphic above.
