Three well-known area food judges were in charge of choosing the winners in the Defiance Crescent-News’ 2012 Recipe Challenge. Out of 119 recipes that were sub-mitted they chose the Grand Prize winner, the Grand Prize runner-up, and the finalists. Shown at the contest’s Oct. 16 final tast-

ing event are the judges: Jim Meyer, who is in charge of food services at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital; Lee Ann Mendoza (center), a three-time winner of the Recipe Challenge; and Rachel Boyd, an experienced cook.
