Directions:Melt the chocolate and crisco together. Dip the pretzel rods in the chocolate, lay on wax paper and sprinkle with sprinkles.

Donut Tombs

Supplies: Round DonutsDonut Holes or Oreos CoconutGreen Food Coloring FrostingGraham Cracker or Paper Plate

Directions:For the Top Example: Frost the graham crackerTake the coconut and put it in a ziplock bag with green food coloring. Shake it till it becomes green. Add the donut and oreo.

For the bottom example: Cut the donuts in half and put donut hole in the front. Add the

verse but make sure it is KJV.

Resurrection Rolls: For smaller children, they are especially amazed when you open the tomb, and it is empty. You can remind them that He has risen through this memorable hands on cooking tradition!1.Share the truth of how Jesus was placed into the tomb (crescent rolls) after the crucifixion.2.Explain how they prepared his body by putting oil and herbs on him (cinnamon and sugar represents the oils and spices).3.As you wrap the marshmallow,explain how this represents the wrapping of Jesuss body after His death.4.Finally, after waiting three long day (or twelve minutes baking time, which feels like days to the children), explain that death could not hold Him in the grave and He is alive. (The marshmallow melts and the crescent roll puffs up, BUT is empty!!Resurrection RollsIngredients1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls8 large marshmallows1/4 cup melted butter2 tablespoons ground cinnamon2 tablespoons white sugarDirections1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.2. Lightly grease a baking sheet.3.Separate crescent rolls into individual triangles.If you can fin the big and flaky ones, the marshmallows will fit better)4.In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar.5.Dip a marshmallow into melted butter, then roll in sugar mixture. Place marshmallow into the center of a dough triangle. Carefully wrap the dough around the marshmallow. Pinch the seams together very tightly to seal in the marshmallow as it melts (or cut a bit of the marshmallow off to fit). Place on a baking sheet. Repeat.6.Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.7.Makes Eight Resurrection Rolls8.** I have made these without dipping them in any butter, cinnamon/sugar mixture and they are still delicious. The butter just makes them an extra special treat.Make sure you seal the seams really well. If you dont, the marshmallow will ooze out the sides, which is just fine in our home. You have the option of making the rolls bigger by using two crescent roll, but still use one marshmallow. This way, the marshmallow wont come out at all. Have the kids play around with making these. On some of them we wanted the empty tomb effect, so we left a little part of the roll open but made sure the side had a little lip to contain the melted mallow.

Jesus forgives and makes us clean

You will need, plastic beaker, dropper, water, food coloring, bleach. Fill your container 2/3 full with water. tell class that when they were born, they had not sinned, and that they had pure clean hearts. As we get older, we all do things that doesn't please Jesus, mom, dad, etc. When this happens, our hearts aren't clean anymore. Add a drop of food coloring, stir. Jesus says that if we come to him and ask for forgiveness, that He will forgive us and love us no matter what. Add some drops of bleach. Tell the children that even though Jesus forgives, sometimes it takes a little bit for our hearts to feel happy again. If the water isn't clean, pure yet, add bit more bleach. Children will see the water change to pure again. This leaves a real impact on young children. They can see it happen and they remember how Jesus loves us always!

Stained Glass Cross:

Supplies:Clear Contact Paper Tissue Paper Black Paper Scissors

Directions: Cut out a black cross in an outline. Lay the black on the contact paper. Let the children put the squares of tissue paper on the contact paper.After they are done lay another piece of contact paper on the other side. Cut out the cross and hand on a window.

Sunset Cross:

Supplies: Sunset water color paintsPaper PlateBlack Construction Paper Stapler or glue

Directions:Have the children paint the paper plate. Have precut crosses on black paper. Staple or glue them onto the paper plate after the children are done painting.

WARMTH OF THE CROSSChildren are guided to find a hidden cross

TOPICS:Cross, God's Love

MATERIALS:Small cross

DURATION:Approximately 15 minutes WHAT YOU WILL DO:You will select one child to take a small cross (paper cutout as displayed above will work fine) and hide it somewhere in the classroom while the other kids wait outside. After the child hides the cross, let everyone back into the room. The child who hid the cross will call out the names of the kids and say warm or cold depending on how close they are to the cross. Have them continue until they find the hidden cross. If time permits, the one who finds the cross can hide it again so the class can play the game again.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:As we get closer to God, we can feel His warmth and love, and He draws us nearer and nearer to Him. However, when we turn from Him, and go the other way, it becomes harder and harder to feel the warmth and love He has for us.

Cross Toss:

Purple paper is inserted in some cups to make a cross. The kids try to throw eggs in the purple cross.

like a cake walk, the kids walked around in a circle on the crosses to the music.

When the music is stopped, the child on the cross with this months bible verse, says the verse and gets a sticker.
