Proverbs 20:7The just man walketh in his integrity: his

children are blessed after him.

What is Integrity?

•It is honesty, straightforwardness, and

truthfulness in handling the affairs of life – Col. 3:9.

Academic integrity is the moral code or ethical policy of

academia. This includes values such as avoidance of cheating or

plagiarism; maintenance of academic standards; honesty

and rigor in research and academic publishing.

•It can also be defined as a state of completeness, wholeness.

Scriptural Examples of the Power of Integrity

•Joseph“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” – Gen 39:9

•Job“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. Job 2:9.”

•Daniel “Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”- Dan 6:5

Characteristics of Integrity

Commitment of self to character over personal gain – 1Thess 2:10

Value people over things – 1Sam 12:3, Act 20:33,34

Renders service over power – Lk 22:26-27

Lives by principle over convenience – 1Cor 6:12, Act 20-33,34,

Sees with the long view over the immediate - 2Kg 5:20-27

Integrity is a thing of the Inside – Mk 7:21-23

Not Determined by Circumstances

Integrity is one key to becoming a Leader.  I Kings. 9:4; Prov. 11:3
