The ‘C’ clasp is also known as
“Circumferential” clasp or
three-quarter clasp.

They are simple clasps designed to engage the
bucco-cervical undercut

Wire is engaged from one proximal undercut along the cervical margin then carried over the occlusal embrasure to end as single retentive arm on the lingual aspect that gets embedded in the acrylic base plate

Advantages:Simplicity in design and fabrication
Disadvantages:It cannot be used in partially erupted teeth wherein the cervical undercut is not available

It is also called as FULL CLASP or “U” clasp

This clasp engages the bucco-cervicalundercut and also the mesial as well as
distal proximal undercuts.

Wire is adapted along the bucco-cervicalmargin and both the proximal undercuts,then carried over both the occlusalembrasures to end as retentive arms on both sides of the molar.
