Minutes of the HOD Meeting (26 April 2018)

1) Review of the Last Meeting

i) EEP: It was decided in previous HOD meeting that all Heads of the Department shalltake feedback from the students on EEP. It was informed to the NIIT agency to takeminimum 1500 aptitude questions in 70 hours with solving technique andjustification. Head of Mechanical and Electrical Department have shared theirfeedback received from students that students are getting difficulty in understandingthe C, & c++ language. Head of Computer and Civil Department have sharedfeedback that logic of solving aptitude questions is not being discussed in theclassroom. All HODs shall write mail to Prof. N. A. Kulkarni mentioning detailedfeedback received from students for necessary action.

ii) Faculty Development Programme: Revised dates of faculty developmentprogramme ofE & TC was received. All department shall start the FDP on scheduledtime with a simple inauguration and introduction session. Major focus shall be givenon technical content. Prof. K. B. Sutar shall prepare report of it for the College andUniversity communication.

iii) Accreditation of PG Programmes: With reference to the mail sent by Principal toall Heads of the Department on 23/0112018, regarding PO NBA of Civil, Chemical,Computer, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Departments, all HODs weresupposed to prepare a executive summary on possibilities of accreditation of saidprogrammes and report ofthe same was expected to submit in HOD meeting held on2nd February 2018. But none of the HOD have submitted the detailed report onpossibility of PO accreditation. In HOD meeting held on 01103/2018, the date wasextended to 08/03/2018. But till 26104/2018, none ofthe Head ofthe Department wasapproached to the Principal with the detailed report on possibility of PO accreditation.

iv) Change in College Timing: As per the request received by no. of faculty membersand subsequent discussion in HOD meeting, college timing has been revised from9.15 AM to 4.30 PM. However, it is observed that students are not getting 15 min.break after first two hours. Students have requested for 15 min. short recess after firsttwo hours. HODs requested different timings such as 8.30 AM to 3.30 PM, 8.45 AMto 3. 45 PM, 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM etc. It has been decided to discuss college timeissue in next HOD meeting with data of attendance of students for lecture at 8.30 AMand 9.30 AM.

2) NBA Presentations: Department of Computer Engineering will present the planningof various activities of next NBA cycle on 28th April 2018 at 10.30 AM at CivilDepartment presentation room. All the faculty members of Computer Department shallattend the presentation and participate in discussion. Also all Heads of the Departmentsshall attend the presentation.

3) Performance Appraisal Format: From A.Y. 2018-19 new appraisal system will beintroduced by the University. BVDUCOE has shouldered the major responsibility ofdesigning the performance appraisal form for faculty members of entire college. It wasasked to all Heads ofthe Departments to present their ideas in the HOD meeting. HODof IT, Chemical and Civil Department have presented their ideas about performancebased appraisal system. Rest of the HODs shall provide their ideas on performanceappraisal form in next HOD meeting.

4) Project Evaluation: Allotment of project guide and evaluation of project work shallbe done as per the instructions given by the Principal. Detailed guidelines are alreadycirculated to all the departments.

5) Inplant Training: All Heads of the Departments shall accelerate the process ofallotment of industries to students for lnplant training opportunities. It is mandatory toall the students who will undergo the inplant training to post / share their experiencesalong with photograph/s on college face book page on every week end till 10th August2018. This will help in branding of the institution as well as the juniors will be awareabout the inplant training activity. Inplant training TW/OR examination will bearranged for those students who will post their experiences about inplant training oncollege face book page weekly. All Heads of the Departments shall strictly monitor thesame.

6) Faculty Recruitment: As per AICTE norm related to STR (i.e. 20:1) facultyrequirement of various branches is submitted to Hon. Secretary for his approval. It isexpected that new faculty members will join BVDUCOE from next academic year.
