All communities have places where people live. Homes are different in different communities.

Urban communities may have high rise apartments and town houses. These home are close together there is not a lot of open spaces or yards.

Suburbs may have houses with lawns but with close neighbors. There may also be apartment buildings.

Suburban communities may have many of the same jobs as in an urban community. Many times people who live in a suburb will drive or commute to a city to work. Many jobs in the suburbs are service jobs: jobs that help the people who live in the suburbs

waiter/waitress, postal worker, police officer and more!

Pie charts are circle shaped graphs, look like a pie

Pie charts or graphs are often used to help us view information in social studies. They are especially helpful when looking at population.

Location refers to where people live

For example the location of your home is either Vernon or Vernon Center
