Sixth Form BYOD Pilot Policy

1. All technology is permitted for use in lessons with the express permission of the teacher.2. Communication via devices in lessons is not permitted unless directly supporting learning.3. All suspected inappropriate use is to be reported to the Sixth Form Office.4. Inappropriate use is defined by the ICT Acceptable Use Agreement and the ICT Acceptable Use

Policy.5. All devices are allowed to be confiscated.6. The school reserves the right to stop the BYOD  pilot without notice.1

RationaleThe overarching aim of the BYOD pilot is to empower teachers and learners with the opportunity to usetechnology to enrich the learning process. Each class teacher is in charge and may request that notechnology is used in a particular lesson or lessons. Students are trusted to use technology responsiblyand any suspicions of inappropriate use should be reported to the Director of Sixth Form and the Head ofICT, who will follow it up with the relevant parties. It is expected that issues will arise and these willaddressed via the evaluation questionnaires. Any interim concerns should be presented to the Sixth FormOffice.
