    unfortunate“technicality”.

    Austrian

    pertainingtothesuccessful

    development

    an

    efficientimplosionfuse

    capableofdetonatinga

    plutoniumbombis,tomy

    certain

    knowledge,in

    behind

    dictates

    SocialistGermanynotonly

    hadnoatombombproject

    andnonuclearreactor,but

    couldnotpossiblyhave

    hadoneevenifthey

    wantedbecausetheirbest

    scientists

    emigrated.

    Infact,giventheright

    implosionfuse,acoupleof

    rudimentary

    zeroenergy

    nuclearreactorsinan

    undergroundfactorybeside

    theDanube,twoyearsand

    a

    chemical

    plant,

    a

    low-grade

    plutoniumbombwouldnot

    have

    been

    beyond

    Germany’scapabilitiesin

    theSecondWorldWar,

    andfromSeptember1941

    theyknewit.Simplyto

    dismissasaflightoffancy

    the

    V-4

    explosive

    mentionedbyHitler,as

    academicsandhistorians

    havedoneoverthelast

    half-century,seemstoo

    easyasolution.Ihaveyet

    toseeanythingwhich

    convincesmethatThird

    Reichscientistsdeveloped

    manyGermansinsist,but

    theWagnerianmonstrosity

    belowHaigerlochchurch,

    thecavewithitschainof

    danglinguraniumcubes

    aboveawellofheavy

    waterinthegloom,is

    Manysuspectthatthe

    standardhistorywehave

    beenfedisbogusandthat

    theThirdReichmusthave

    comeupwithsomething

    betterthanthisabject,

    dismalfailure.

    enoughtreateduraniumfor

    two

    of

    these

    small,

    laboratory-built

    atom

    bombs,

    a

    scientific

    passengerwhospecialized

    infusetechnology,anda

    largequantityofheavy

    water,essentialingredients

    inthemanufactureof

    Heisenberg’sbomb.Thus

    atlastwemayhavethe

    solutiontothemystery

    surroundingthisGerman

    submarine.

    ThepathoftheV-4

    project,whichwasnotone

    weaponbuttwo,isso

    itoccupyingthegreater

    partofthisbook.However,

    gravity

    project.

    Some

    claimthattheconcept

    originated

    in

    the

    workshopsofsomeother

    world’sairforce.Official

    documents

    prove

    the

    existenceofallthree

    developments,butfifty-

    five

    afterwards,

    beyond

    a

    grudging

    admissionthattheirairmen

    werenothallucinatingwith

    respecttothefoo-fighter,

    theauthoritieshavestill

    revealed

    nothing

    about

    howthemachinesworked.

    Initiallyaircrewabstained

    foranundergroundfactory

    andhadfoundasuitable

    location

    largest

    subterraneanfactoryinthe

    bombedPeenemünde.The

    materialdamagewasnot

    percentofthebombsfell

    onopenlandandinthe

    nearbywoods.Eventhe

    patterns

    industrial
