The current design of the flag dates from the Union of Ireland and Great Brita

in in 1801.It consists of the red cross of Saint George (patron Saint of England), edged in white superimposed on the Cross of St Patrick (patron Saint of Ireland), which are superimposed on the Saltire of Saint Andrew.

The official language is English but there are some other languages spoken too. Like the Gaelic language which is still used in parts of the Scottish highlands and islands and there is the Welsh language which is spoken in some parts of Wales.

Fact: People who move to Britain are often Bilingual. Indian and Pakistani children learn their own languages as well as English.
