Archaebacteria•Unicellular

• Archaebacteria means “Ancient Bacteria”

• Existed before before the dinosaurs came

• Can be either autotrophic or heterotrophic

Where do they live?

☺On the ocean floor

☺Hot springs

☺Or inside you!!!!!!!!!!!

Archaebacteria are Prokaryotes

Prokaryotes- organisms whose cells lack a nucleus

Archaebacteria lives in extreme environment.

• Unicellular (single-celled)

• Prokaryote

• Autotrophs or heterotrophs

• no extreme environments

• everywhere on the earth!

Is Eubacteria Useful?Living Places

YES!

• Keep some of Earth’s physical conditions

• Help other organisms to survive.

• Autotrophic Eubacterias keep Earth’s current level of oxygen (20%)

• Unicelluar either multicelluar

• Autotrophs either heterotrops

• Eukaryotes (living things containing nuclei)

• “Odds and Ends” kingdom- organisms are very different from one another.

Seaweed

• multicelluar

Chlamydomona

• unicellular

MOST fungi are multicellular eukaryotes (with the exception of yeast which is unicellular)

All Fungi are heterotrophs

Most fungi feed on dead or decaying organisms

Some examples of fungi are…

Mushrooms

Molds

AND

Mildew

All plants are multicellular eurkaryotes

Plants are Autotrophs that make their own food

NO PLANTS= NO LIFE ON EARTH!!!!!

Why? Because plants feed almost all of the heterotrophs on Earth

All animals are multicellular eukaryotes

All animals are heterotrophs

Animals have different adapatations that allow them to locate food, capture it, and digest it

Found all over the world in different enviroments

Dogs (or puppies)
