Event One The first event that I think is important is that Bruno’s dad (The commandant of Auschwitz) is actually based off a real Auschwitz commandant. The second event that is in the novel and that exists is the concentration camp Auschwitz. I think the reason that they put Auschwitz in the novel is because that was a big camp, and that was a horrible place(All the concentration camps were terrible). http://www.pbs.org/auschwitz/

Event Two

The third event that is in then novel and that exist, is the Holocaust, because it’s about the Holocaust, and what they did during that time. I think the reason the author included this big event, is because during this time in Germany it was terrible. But not everyone knew what was going.
