What is a Faith Promise?

As a Follower of Jesus Christ,

YOUHold the World in Your Hand

½ of the World is Without an Adequate Witness.

WE HAVE BEEN COMMANDED TO REACH THEM!

Page 4: By Paul Brannan

WE HAVE ONLY TWO CHOICES:

1. WE MUST GO AS MISSIONARIES -

2. WE MUST SEND OTHERS -

COMMITTED MONTHLY GIVING MAKES THIS POSSIBLE.

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15 (NIV)

Paul wrote, “And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him?” Rom 10:15 (TLB)

KINDS OF MISSIONS GIVING

• Emotional Giving – One gives only when moved by feelings

• Token Giving – One seldom fails to give but only small amounts that require little effort

• Committed Giving – Practiced by those who take seriously their responsibility to help evangelize the world

COMMITTED MISSIONS GIVING:

Is what we give for the local church ministry.

The Church office will not contact you if you fail to make a

payment.

IS NOT GOD’S TITHE

IS NOT JUST A PLEDGE10%

“For I testify that

according to their

ability, and beyond

their ability, they

gave of their own

accord,” 2 Cor 8:3 (NASV)

COMMITTED GIVING, IS EXPRESSED TWO WAYS

Page 9: By Paul Brannan

BUDGETED GIVING MEANS:

• To give regularly

• To give what you are truly able to afford

House

Car

ons

Food

House

• To include missions in your monthly budget as a priority item

Page 10: By Paul Brannan

It is not based solely on your ability to pay but rests

confidently in God’s ability to provide as your faith grows.

LIFTS US TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF

FAITH PROMISE GIVING…

Page 11: By Paul Brannan

WHAT IS A FAITH

PROMISE?

• It is a spiritual agreement between you and God to give regularly during the next year.

• It is your total reliance upon God for divine provision.

• It is a sacred act.

Page 12: By Paul Brannan

WHO SHOULD MAKE A FAITH PROMISE?

• If you are not called to go, you are called to send others.

• Children should be taught to make a faith promise.

• Every family should make a faith promise.

Page 13: By Paul Brannan

FAITH PROMISE GIVING IS:

THE GREAT EQUALIZER

Page 14: By Paul Brannan

• If it is an amount that you can afford to give, it doesn’t require as much faith.

• If the amount you have promised to give isn’t a challenge to you, it may not stretch your faith.

IS YOUR PROMISE REALLY MADE IN

Page 15: By Paul Brannan

MUST I FILL OUT A FAITH PROMISE CARD?

Church leaders must know how much income to expect for missions before making monthly commitments to missionaries.

Missionaries cannot leave for the field until their budget has been raised.

Page 16: By Paul Brannan

I DON’T WANT OTHERS TO KNOW WHAT I AM

GIVING!

• Confidentiality will be maintained.

• Only those who administer missions funds will see your card.

• Amounts, but not names, will be announced.

Page 17: By Paul Brannan

SHOULD I MAKE A NEW FAITH PROMISE?

• Yes, since God provided for you last year, you WILL want to increase your giving for next year.

• Yes, because if you were unable to complete your promise last year, we start fresh today.

Page 18: By Paul Brannan

HOW LONG DOES A FAITH PROMISE LAST?

ONE YEAR 365 DAYS

52 WEEKS

12 MONTHS

UNTIL YOUR NEXT CONVENTION

UNTIL JESUS COMES!

Page 19: By Paul Brannan

HOW DO I GIVE MY FAITH PROMISE?

• Most will give on missions Sunday.

• All should clearly mark their giving “missions”.

• Some will give as they receive their salary.

• Others must wait God’s provision.

Page 20: By Paul Brannan

HOW MUCH IS A FAITH PROMISE?

• SINCE GOD GAVE HIS SON TO REDEEM THE WORLD FROM SIN, and

• JESUS GAVE HIS LIFE FOR LOST SOULS…

Page 22: By Paul Brannan

IN YOUR HEART, YOU KNOW THE ANSWER

Page 23: By Paul Brannan

SO, HOW MUCH SHOULD MY FAITH PROMISE BE?

HE WILL TELL YOU HOW MUCH YOUR FAITH PROMISE SHOULD BE.

Here’s a revolutionary idea.

JUST ASK GOD

Page 24: By Paul Brannan

“Each one must do as he has made up his mind…”

2 Cor 9:7 (RSV)

YOUR ACTIVE OBEDIENCE

WILL LEAD YOU TO MAKE

YOUR COMMITMENT

TODAY!

Page 25: By Paul Brannan

YOUR ACTIVE FAITH

WILL UNLOCK THE RESOURCES NEEDED TO COMPLETE YOUR

COMMITMENT “And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that

you may always have enough of everything and may provide in

abundance for every good work.” 2 Cor 9:8 (RSV)

Page 26: By Paul Brannan

THIS IS NOT

IT’S JUST

Page 27: By Paul Brannan

IT’S TIME TO MAKE A DECISION!

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THAT LOST WORLD IN YOUR HANDS?
