The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s national honor society.
OA has been around since 1915 and exists to serve the local council. Members of the OA are referred to as “Arrowmen,” and their main duty is to serve their unit.
They wear red and white sashes and a patch on the right pocket flap of the Scout uniform to identify their lodge affiliation

Benefits to ScoutsBenefits to Scouts OA is a way for peers to recognize Scouts who
exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.
Scouts have a chance to sharpen their leadership skills by leading others at a local, council or national level, by planning and promoting events, by communicating, and by attending leadership programs.
Scout may actively participate with his troop or team for a longer period of time if he is active in the OA.
Order of the Arrow operates three great high-adventure programs—Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier, and the Florida Sea Base.

Earned Quality Lodge for 2008 for the first time in 7 years
Presented 8 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, including 6 gold-level awards, one bronze-level award, and one "Call to Service" lifetime achievement award.
Took the second largest contingent to the ArrowCorps5 Manti-La Sal project
Presented two James E. West Fellowship donations of $1,000
Provided over 3,625 hours of service in 2008 to their Council camps, National Forests, and local communities
9 Lodge members attended the OA National Leadership Seminar, the highest level of youth leadership training, and 2 of our youth members were Instructors for this course
124 new members were inducted, 44 achieved Brotherhood level of membership, and 6 inducted into the Vigil Honor

Is an active, registered member of a Troop or Varsity team
Has completed a minimum of 15 nights camping, with one resident camp of 6 days and 5 nights within the last 2 year period.
Has the approval of his leader PRIOR to election
