Day 3: Experience peat cutting, visit Bowmore, try your hand

at turning the barley on the malting floor and test the cask-strength whisky in the warehouse. In the afternoon visit Bruichladdich with it's bottling plant and Islay's newest distillery, Kilchoman. Evening free.

Travel by luxury small coach with pick-ups in Glasgow and Edinburgh. All ferries. Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the Bridgend Hotel. Dinner on the first evening. Services of a qualified Scottish Tourist Guide and Whisky Specialist. Other customised itinaries available on request.Optional Extras: Dinner can be

aranged in the well known traditional pubs and restaurants of Islay. A tutored whisky tasting or local entertainment can also be provided on request.The Bridgend Hotel is located in the heart of Islay and uses local produce as far as possible in its menus.In addition to home finished beef and lamb, pheasants, woodcock, wild duck and venison are supplied by the Estate and salmon in season. The local fishing fleet lands lobster, scallops and brown crabs. The hotel has a comprehensive wine list, and a full range of the noted Islay malt whiskies is available.
