Zud - when the unforgiving forces of nature take their toll on humans and animals. After the unexpected return of snow, nomad Batsaikhan forces his son Subhat, who has just turned 11, to leave his childhood behind and follow in his footsteps. An intense relation between father, son and their wild horse shows how nature overwhelms and influences human beings. Nobody remains

unscathed after being confronted with claustrophobic powers of the steppe.

Marta is author and director of the award winning documentary film, 'A Piece of Summer‘ (Kawalek Lata). Awards include: Grand Prix, Clermont-Ferrand Filmfest 2011; Golden Dove, DOK Festival, Leipzig, 2010; and Grand Prix, Lodz, Poland. In 2010 Marta Minorowicz graduated from the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing where she made the film, ‘Decrescendo’ that was also awarded at a number of festivals. In 2003 she graduated with an MA in History of Theatre and English Philology at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. For more than five years she cooperated with Polish television where she made dozens of social reportages. For Discovery History she scripted and directed, among others, the documentary film, ‘The Angel of Death’.

Ann Carolin Renninger studied Cultural Sciences in Leipzig, Paris and Strasbourg. After graduating she joined the team of DOK Leipzig Film Festival. Since 2008 she works as a producer for zero one film, Berlin, responsible for the development and production of cinema documentaries. In 2010 she founded joon film – a film production company and open platform for artistic collaborations. She recently has worked and works with film makers and artists like Alexander Sokurov, René Frölke, Marta Popivoda, Piotr Rosolowski, Elwira Niewiera, Marta Minorowicz.

Parti-cipant of Documentary Campus Masterschool, EKRAN, Ex Oriente, The Pixel Lab, EAVE. 2006-09 Head of Production and since 2010 tutor for Creative Producer Programme at Wajda School. Member of the Council of the Polish Film Institute and a voting member of Polish Film Academy.

The 2014 festival hit „Domino Effect“ by Elwira Niewiera & Piotr Rosolowski won among others the Golden Dove at DOK Leipzig FF, best Int. and Polish documentary & best cinematography at Krakow FF, „Silver Apricot“ at Yerevan FF. To be released in 2015: „Francofonia“ by Aleksandr Sokurov, „Peter Handke“ by Corinna Belz, „Zud“ by Marta Minorowicz.
