• Younger people will prefer myki in comparison to older people• The Myki system is new• Knowledge of Myki is sparse• We investigated!
• We collected our data over 2 days• We surveyed people on trams, at tram stops and at Southern Cross• We surveyed 161 people• We also got 2 interviews and a verbal interview
Age Bracket
• People prefer Met-Ticket to Myki• Younger people tended to prefer Myki to older• People from 21-30 had the highest Myki to Met-Ticket ratio• People 51-60 and O 60 had the lowest Myki to Met-Ticket ratio
Age Bracket
• Fairly similar to Preference graph• Big difference for 51-60 and 31-40• Myki is used more by younger people• The highest ratio of Myki to Met-Ticket was U21• The lowest ratio of Myki to Met-Ticker was O 60• For usage, 51-60 was a higher ratio than 31-40
Form of Transport
• Most people surveyed used the train• More people use Myki on trams than buses!• The highest ratio of Myki to Met-Ticket was tram•The lowest ration of Myki to Met-Ticket was bus
• We interviewed someone at the Myki head office • We asked him about his opinions on Myki and Met-Ticket• He was very cautious and did not want to give much away• Marcus and Dylan will now re-enact it
Big insight given We learnt a lot about
where the system is at Myki isn’t fully mainstream
yet System costs too much People have low opinions
of it Our hypothesis that young
people prefer myki was correct
9UP BYTES WAS GREAT!
