Making Honey

Only certain types of honeybees can make honey.

Bees are the only insect to make food for humans.

A House bee collects nectar from the bee that gathered the nectar from the flowers. Then the house bee chews the nectar for half an hour. Then puts the nectar in the cells to evaporate the water out of the nectar. The cells are sealed with a wax cover.

The Cells

The cells store nectar ,pollen, and the babies mature in the cells.

On the outside cells the nectar is stored

On the inside the babies mature Wax can be a lid for the nectar filled

cells if needed a bee will open the lid and spray it around the hive to feed the bees.
