What really is violence against woman?

Violence against woman isn’t just physical abuse involving hitting, kicking, spitting, punching and sexual abuse. It can be verbal using the power of words to break down that woman or girl. Actions bring upon physical pain and those wounds can heal with time. However words, they stay in the mind bouncing around for that person to bear. There’s a reason why the saying goes “Words speak louder than actions”.

Present day issue on violence against women- Person 1 (Nofeezaht)

• Violence against women is a result of discrimination against women and also the inequality between men and women.

• Although it is a human rights violation, violence against women still continues to be a global problem.

• About 70% of women experience violence in their lifetime. • 38% of today’s murders of women are committed by an intimate partner. • Such violence is not inevitable but there are ways for it to be prevented.• Each November 25, we acknowledge a global commitment to the

elimination of violence against women.

Situation with violence against women in the U.S. and how it was dealt with- Person 2 (Iffie)

• Violence can result physically, mentally ,sexually and etc.• On average over 30% of women who had been in a relationship reported

that they had experienced some domestic violence physically and sexually. • Examples that led to abuse: stalking, anger, raised around domestic

violence and etc.• An incident happened in 2009. The famous singer Chris Brown is allegedly

known for physical violence against his ex-girlfriend a famous singer named Rhianna.

• It was told that Chris Brown got a text from another women while in a rented Lamborghini with Rhianna. Rhianna got mad and started to argue with him. Soon when he stopped the car Rhianna took the keys and threw it out the window and that’s when it all started.

• How was dealt with? Well, Chris Brown was soon arrested for his felony but then bailed out.

• It’s no secret as to what happened with these two

what they used to be before Chris Brown abused her.

Solutions for violence against women- person 3 (Brianna)

• There are many solutions to stop women abuse.• You can involve the police in the relationship by getting the

police to be on his case. • You can tell somebody and maybe they can help in some way. • Also before you start a relationship make sure you truly know

how the person acts.• If they hit you once you shouldn’t give them another chance

and just tell somebody and leave them because if he keeps doing it again it can cause more problems in the future.

• Or you can use self -defense.

Did you Know that…

• What many people fail to realize is that women all around them are suffering from abuse. In the picture above it’s a perfect example of what some women will try to hide. Many will try hard to cover up their scars using makeup or a plain see through excuse to cover up the horrendous scandal. In the 2012 film Sparkle actress Carmen Ejogo gets beaten by her husband Mike Epps but rapidly her sisters put an end to it . But for some women it’s not the case they are not as lucky and continue to suffer from the abuse.

Brianna’s Essay • Abuse is something nobody should have to endure, let alone woman. Abuse is physical or emotional

violence placed upon others. No one should have to face such harsh treatment but sometimes it’s not preventable.

• Violence against women is a tragic tragedy occurring all over the world. Women are “sometimes” seen as the weaker sex in the eyes of society. Even back then women had less rights then men. We weren’t able to vote and etc. However today even with the power to vote women are still not treated equally especially when it comes to being in a relationship. Woman can suffer abuse in relationships and vise versa. But 85% of domestic violence victims are women, its far too much. Its has gotten out of hand the way one can freely express their anger by placing their hands upon another. However most victims don’t communicate their feelings and deny the fact that their partner is harming them. Sad but true!

• Others become intimated by their significant other seeing them as the bigger person. Women in this case might not want to speak up about it because they are afraid of the husband’s or boyfriends response. But in this case you can speak up. No matter if you love that person or he/she loves you once they place a hand upon you it’s time to leave. You can give second chances but why stay knowing they might do it again.

• In an abusive relationship you can seek help from parents, family, friends and even someone who will reach out to you. From there you can have someone call the police. It seems like such a great plan but many are hesitant to even dial the number on a phone. Some wait to long to involve their family or the police. It soon becomes too late for them resulting in nothing but terrible physical and emotional pain sometimes even death. Only 25% of domestic crimes are reported each year proving how hard it really is to get out. Self-defense is a great action to fight abuse. Simply fight back showing him that you aren't scared at all. If in an abusive relationship that person should get out immediately and seek major help. But once tension rises between the two you shouldn’t run unless he raises that iron fist and threatens you or puts you in an uncomfortable circumstance.

• Woman abuse is not right. No matter how severe or slightly gentle the crime is! It shouldn’t have sparks being added to the fire. Instead it should be discouraged . Stop Abuse no just for woman for all.

Iffie’s essay • Violence against women is a huge problem in not only the United States but all over the world.

Beating a women can scar them. It can make women be afraid of men for the rest of their lives thinking that the next man they’ll be with will hit them. That is why some people may be bisexual or lesbian. Beating a women can cause problems for yourself.

• Violence against women is mainly partner violence and sexual violence against women. This is a violation against women's rights as a human. 30% of women who had been in a relationship had experienced some physical abuse by their partners. Violence can result physically, mentally, sexually and etc. Globally, as many as 38% of murders of women are committed by a partner they had.

• For example an issue that occurred in the United States in 2009 was when the famous singer Chris Brown was allegedly known for beating his ex-girlfriend a famous singer named Rhianna. Rhianna was left with bruises on her face and arms. What he did was a hit and run. It was told that Rhianna got mad at Chris Brown for texting other women. Then when he tried to push her out of the car she wouldn’t budge. She threw his keys out and he was known for hitting her and punching her and leaving her in the scene. Soon he confessed and was arrested but soon bailed out for $15000.

• When Chris Brown hit Rhianna he was arrested and that was how it was dealt with. It was told that the famous singer was raised surrounded by domestic violence. His stepfather would always abuse his mother. Soon he learned that beating a women is wrong and he would never do it again.

• Women have rights too. Even though women are smaller than men they aren’t weak. You can’t just boss a woman around and torture them whenever you want. Soon she’ll get you back because karma comes around and bites you. Violence against women is a serious acquisition.
