Thomas Edison created the first carbon as filaments for his light bulb but this type of carbon fiber lacked the tensile strength of modern carbon fibers

In 1958, Dr. Roger Bacon created carbon fibers by heating strands of Rayon until they carbonized. This method was later on proved inefficient because it only had 20% carbon and low strength properties.

Carbon Fiber is a man made material that is both harder than steel and very thin.

It is also light weight.Carbon Fiber can be made to be strong at

certain parts or at the whole thing.Carbon Fiber can supports tons of weight. The complex interwoven parts of carbon

fiber make it very hard to break.

Carbon Fiber is an extremely strong thin fiber made by pyrolyzing synthetic fibers, such as rayon, until charred. It is used to make high-strength composites.

Carbon fiber has a distinctive appearance that is nearly impossible to replicate if it is damaged.

Carbon fiber is a form of graphite in which these sheets are long and thin.

Graphite is a form of pure carbon. You might think of them as ribbons of graphite. Bunches of these ribbons like to pack together to form fibers, that’s why its called carbon fiber.

Several thousand carbon fibers are twisted together to form a yarn, which may be used by itself or woven into a fabric. The yarn or fabric is combined with epoxy and wound or molded into shape to form various composite materials. Carbon fiber-reinforced composite materials are used to make aircraft and spacecraft parts, racing car bodies, golf club shafts, bicycle frames, fishing rods, automobile springs, sailboat masts, and many other components where light weight and high strength are needed.

Due to its strength and light weight, carbon fibers are used in formula one race cars, air planes, bikes, boats and other high quality vehicles.

Carbon Fiber is also used in golf clubs, fishing rods and tennis rackets.
