HINDI POEM RECITATION COMPETITION (VI TO XII)

An Interhouse Hindi Poem Recitation Competition organised on 1st September 2017 at DCHSS, Raipur on the occasion of” Swachh Bharat Pakhwada” . This competition was for the students of class VI to XII to explore and encourage the students about the cleanliness and hygiene. It inspired the children to come forward with confidence and recite their views and thoughts.

ELOCUTION COMPETITION (IX to XII)

The Interhouse Elocution Competition held on 1st September 2017 at DCHSS, Raipur for classes IX to XII on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Pakhwada . The topic was “CLEAN INDIA MOVEMENT”. All the participants performed exceptionally well winning accolades for their house. The competition gave a lot of encouragement and confidence to the speakers and all present there

(VI TOXII) “CLEAN INDIA GREEN INDIA”

Poster Making Competition organised at DCHSS, Raipur on 4th September 2017 on the theme of Swachh Bharat. The competition was conducted to encourage and motivate participants to come up with innovative posters and display their creative skills. The main objective behind conducting the event was to spread awareness about Swachh Bharat initiatives taken by Government of India among the students community.

WWF- WILD WISDOM QUIZ 2017 Theme: “maze of the natural world”,

WWF- India and Discovery Kids in association with

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

organized the Wild Wisdom Quiz 2017.

The Wild Wisdom Quiz is conducted over two

months across cities in India. Wild Wisdom Quiz had

3 categories

1) Primary classes III-V.

2) Middle classes VI-VIII 3) Seniors (online quiz) classes IX-XII

Primary for classes 3- 5 and Middle for classes 6- 8 had participated in school level competition. Out of which 4 students (2 from each category) represented school at city level competition on 6 September 2017 at Bhopal, MP, Escorted by Mrs. Anupriya Da(PRT). Participants were: Primary Level: Abhinav Meena Class V and Pranay Goyal Class V Middle level: Devaditya Das Class VI and Mridul Shukla of Class VI

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

“Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-

next”

Teachers play a major role in making their students

responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human

beings. It is impossible to imagine our lives without

teachers. They are the corner stone of students’

future.

Teacher’s day was celebrated at DCHSS, Raipur on 5th September 2017 with great zeal and enthusiasm

.The day is dedicated to teachers, who play a

prominent role in the life of their students.

The teachers act as the guide for life, show the path

towards success and enrich the personality of their

disciples by imparting ethical and academic knowledge.

The celebration Party started at 12 p.m. All the

students of class 11th and 12th performed on that

day for the teachers and were all fully geared up.

There were dance, songs and games. Mr. A.K.

Tiwari Sir, Secretary of DES,gave a speech on the life of Dr.RadhaKrishnan to inspire the students.He

layed emphasis on karma and Dharma.

Mr. Dilip Kumar, Principal of DCHSS, emphasized

on the importance of teachers and asked Maximum

students to opt teaching as a profession as our

country is deficit in good teachers. Dr. Shailesh

Sharma, Vice Principal of DCHSS and Mr. Sankeertan Sahu (PGT Hindi) shared their teaching

and learning experience.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

WORKSHOP Health and wellness workshop was

conducted for the students of classes VI to XII on Wednesday,6th September 2017.

This was the separate senitation session for the boys and the girls which was taken

by Mrs. Anjali Goswami, Mrs. Varsha L. Thomas and Mr. Kailash Sahu.

During the session students were made aware about how to handle cuts, bruises, nose bleeding and burns.They promoted

the importance of nutritious food and healthy living with health and hygiene

practices.Students were given awarness of exercise & yogaa for a healthy life.

SHRAMDAAN BY THE TEACHERS AND THE STUDENTS

In accordance with the honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s

“SWACHH VIDYALAYA ,SWACHH BHARAT CAMPAIGN” the teachers and

the students of classes VI to XII did their bit in keeping the school surroundings

clean on September 7th 2017 as part of the cleanliness campaign conducted by the school. The students and teachers

performed the activity with great interest & zeal. They were also encouraged to

keep themselves and their surroundings clean. The students were sensitized about

the importance of a clean environment and were also motivated to adopt

cleanliness as an important part of their day to day life

VISIT TO FIRE STATION

On 6th Sept,17 primary children (class 1 to class 5) visited the fire station to extend their knowledge of fire fighters. They got a hands on-experience on fire safety and the very important community helper- the fire fighter. They watched how firefighters use their fire truck in an emergency. The fire fighters showed them the different equipment used by them and demonstrated the use of a fire extinguisher. They had curious questions which were answered by the fire fighters. It was a fun filled, informative experience which the children can use to associate with their environment.

BEST OUT OF WASTE

COMPETITION (CLASSES VI to XII)

In order to make children aware of recycling & reusing waste material, and to

give them a lesson on reducing waste to save our future “BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION” was organized at

DCHSS, Raipur for the students of Classes 6-12.

Mind blowing beyond expectation, fantabulous ideas were demonstrated by

students. Right from waste plastic bottles, spoons to broken bangles, plastic

hangers, waste baskets to broken trays and newspapers were all transformed into

intricate artifacts.

Sanskrit Songs and Quiz Competition

(Bharat Vikas Parishad )

Students of DCHSS, Raipur participated in Hindi/Sanskrit group song competition and General Knowledge Quiz Competition “Bharat Ko Jano” on 9th September 2017 at J.N.Govt.Hr. Sec. School, Raipur. These competitions were organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad. All the groups were given different names. Hindi & Sanskrit Songs given by the name of the famous poet Shri Jagdish Chandra Basu. In this competitions students of our school were awarded with appreciation certificates

General Knowledge quiz competition was organized for the students of classes 6 th to 12th. In this competition Master Mohd. Aman Memon student of our school received 2nd prize from IG Shri P.S. Tiwari and brought laurels to DCHSS.

BOARD DECORATION COMPETITION – “SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN “

ON 13TH September 2017, an Inter-house board decoration competition was held at DCHSS, Raipur. The topic was “ SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN”, giving the students an opportunity to display their creativity, knowledge and artistic skills. The four houses were judged on the basis of the relavant content, appropriate captions, slogans, visuals and overall presentation. The students of each house worked with great enthusiasm and co-ordination. They had worked hard to collect all the latest information and colorful pictures,. The final displays were judged by the Principal, Mr. Dilip Kumar, Vice Principal Dr. Shailesh Sharma, Mrs Mandakini Mishra (PRT). HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country on 14th of September every year to mark the history of origin of the Hindi. It was started celebrating as a Hindi Diwas when Hindi Written in Devnagari script was approved as an official language by the Constituent Assembly at 14th of September in the year 1949. Many activities were organised on that holistic occasion, Hindi Poem Recitataion Competition was organised for the classes VI to VIII . The Theme of the poem was “Hamari Matrabhasha Hindi” . The Inter-House Essay Writing Competion was organised for the classes IX to X where the topic was “ Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Ka Mahatva”. Over all , it was a fun filled day which inculcated values of deep respect and appreciation for one of the very old Indian language HINDI.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

ON REMODELLED STRUCTURE OF ASSESSMENT

A one day workshop was conducted by CBSE on 15 Sept 2017, for “CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM ON REMODELLED STRUCTURE OF ASSESSMENT”, at NH Goel World School for Principal's and Academic coordinators. Dr. Shailesh Sharma, Vice Principal, DCHSS, along with Mr. Sankeertan Sahu and Mrs. Varsha L Thomas attended the workshop. Workshop was conducted by resource person Mr. R.P. Singh, Joint Director and incharge of COE, Kolkata. Workshop was to aware CBSE affiliated schools of recent changes in Assessment scheme for session 2017-18. Session included methodological approach including activities to put insight on the assessment practice and adopting a uniform system

of assessment.

“SWACHHTA RALLY “ CLEAN INDIA

GREEN INDIA”

“Our country is our identity , so keep our

identity clean” keeping this message in mind a Swachhta Rally was organised by the

students and teachers of DCHSS,Raipur on 15th September 2017 to create awareness for maintaining the cleanliness in the country

and also to enlighten patriotism in the hearts of all Indians . Students took out on a road

holdings various placards and posters with the slogans and quotations.

Rally was flagged off by Principal Sir. It was a big success in spreading a message of

cleanliness and green enviornment.

ART & CRAFT WORKSHOP

“ Art is the journey of a free soul” Pidilite Company with the collaboration of Disha College Of Higher Secondary Studies organised an Art & Craft Workshop on Saturday. 16th September 2017 at DCHSS, Raipur. The training programme was conducted by Mr. Sanchan Bhojwani on the behalf of Pidilite. Mr. Dilip Kumar, Principal of DCHSS gave an inaugural speech and motivated all the participants. The main objective of the workshop was to integrate art and craft in the classroom to ensure a holistic and creative growth of students. Art Department Teachers of DCHSS Ms. Pratiksha Yadu, Ms. Kanchan Gupta and Mrs. Sulbha Dubey and more than 60 teachers from different schools of Raipur attended a workshop and learnt many creative and innovative techniques of Paper Craft, Fabric Craft, Best Out Of Waste by using newspapers, Clay Modeling, Mixed Media, Glass Painting and other craft ideas. Activities like demonstration of articles were organised. Teachers learnt making best out of waste by page mark and grater. The Workshop proved to be very helpful and beneficial for the teachers.

Report on Handwriting Workshop „‟Your handwriting speaks louder than your words!‟‟ Handwriting is one of the most demanding movement skill which everyone is expected to master. It is a complex skill involving a range of cognitive, linguistic, perceptual and motor abilities. A flexible, fluent and legible handwriting empowers not only the students but also the teachers to write with confidence and creativity. Keeping on this in mind DCHSS, Raipur organised two days Handwriting Workshop from 22nd to 23rd September 2017, for the teachers of primary, middle and higher secondary classes. Workshop was conducted by Mr. Krishna Mohta, Graphologist and Director of Raipur institute of Graphology. The session begin with welcoming of guest and spokesperson by Dr. Anil Tiwari, Secretary DES and Mr. Dilip Kumar, Principal DCHSS, later put some light on impacts of handwriting.

REPORT ON RALLY FOR SAVE RIVERS “Nadi se hai paani ki aas, Nadi bachane ka

karo prayas” Indian rivers, the lifelines of our civilization, are at dangerous levels of depletion. A nationwide campaign to create awareness is being started by Sadhguru, founder of Isha foundation to save the Lifelines of our country. As the first step Disha College Of Higher Secondary Studies, Raipur organised a special morning assembly on 23 rd September 2017. All the students and teachers come in blue attire to represent “water”. The programme included an inspiring talk on the
