Art Competition Conducted by Camlin

To bring out the creativity and the artistic talents among school students a drawing competition was organized in Disha Primary School with the association of Camlin. The different topics were given to students like Favorite Park, Hobbies, and Traffic City.

To add colour and give wings to their imagination the competition was held on 5 th Nov,16 where students were seen participating with water colors, pastel colours, and wax crayons. Change is always a welcome factor for students and this competition served right for the very purpose.

Young India Model United Nation

"Young India Model United Nations", also known as YIMUN, is an educational simulation

and a platform for academic competition in which pupils can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the importance of United Nations. Four delegates from our school participated in YIMUN conference held in Krishna Public School, Dunda, Raipur from 4th to 6th Nov, 2016.They could grab the opportunity and were selected for active participation in the committees and representing two countries viz. State Level Drawing Competition

Power Grid, Kumhari as every year organized State Level Drawing Competition Under (National Campaign On Energy Conservation 2016) organized by Ministry of Power , Government of India. This competition is organized in two level : school level and state level and in two categories: category „A‟ includes classes IV, V and VI and category „B‟ includes classes VII, VIII and IX. At school level Vaidehi Gupta of class VI got selected for category „A‟ and then her entry was sent for State Level where her painting got selected as a reserve candidate with a prize amount of Rs.2000 and she got a last minute entry in the competition. Her painting was appreciated and though she could not get merit position but got a consolation prize worth Rs. 5000. She stood among top 50 candidates among 96400 candidates in category „A‟.

Crazy Collage Day The concept of tearing and pasting was introduced in the pre-primary section of Disha School by the teachers when they organized the Crazy Collage Day for Pre-Primary kids. To indulge the children in their favorite activity and give wings to their imagination this activity was perfectly conducted. Finally creative pictures like a candle, balloon, and Christmas tree were depicted. Tearing and pasting is not only fun filled but also increases their concentration in a particular task. Such activities serve as a proper aid in their early stages of learning. Colorful paper, glue and scissors were used to convert the imagination on thermocol and paper, this expressed their ability and creativity.

Field Trip to Nandan Van

Field trips are the part of experiential learning in which children learn things practically, so Disha School class II students visited to Nandan Van to experience the world of animals where they saw different kinds of birds, deer, bear, lion, monkey etc under the EVS topic of “Animals around us” and Hindi topic of “Janwaro ki Duniya”.

Sanskrit Shloka Recitation Competition

Enriched and replete our Sanskrit shlokas are now given lesser importance in schools the reason being increased academic pressure. Although it is customary to have Sanskrit from class five children lack the inclination towards this profound subject. Disha Primary School took a major initiative to instill the feeling of being a proud Hindu among students. Students chanted the shlokas with great zeal and devotion. Students grabbed this opportunity and presented the mantras without any stage fear. It all started with class 1 students chanting “Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu expressing their extreme love towards their “Guru” or “Teacher”. There was a congruence of thoughts among all the students from 1 to 5 to participate in this extraordinary event and perform their best.

Children Day Celebration Pre-Primary

Pre-primary students celebrated children‟s day on 11th Nov,16 in the form of class party or picnic, they all came along with their tiffin and sat together, shared their tiffin with each other and after finishing their tiffin they all danced together to celebrate the special Day. They all enjoyed a lot and got the gifts from their class teachers.

Visit to Science City (Class III)

Short trips and visits play an essential role in the holistic development of a child. A trip to the Science City was organized by Disha Primary School on 11th Nov,16 for class III students, they were taken to Science City where they came across the basic principles of different concepts piled up in their curriculum.

A live model helps them to understand the concept better. It was intended to inculcate the scientific aptitude and temperament. Be it the details of tides ,the concepts of light , energy or the basics of a simple machine were seen in science city. The resources of Chhattisgarh were also highlighted. Finally this trip was an amazing experience for class III students.

Celebration of GurunanakJayanti

On the account of children‟s day and Guru Nanak Jayanti DCHSS celebrated the occasion on 12 Nov 2016. The day started with a special assembly by chanting'' EK OMKAR'' and then remembering Guru Nanakji's teaching .The celebration continued with some fun n frolic by students of 11& 12 (commerce) organizing Business Mela.

Celebration of Children’s Day In India Children‟s Day or Bal Diwas is celebrated on 14th November to mark the birth anniversary of Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru. Disha Primary School celebrated this special day with full zeal and enthusiasm where teachers played an entirely different role to win the hearts of their little ones. This overwhelming performance displayed their intense dedication and love to their job and students. Teachers dressed like students conducted the morning assembly which started with prayer, a marvelous skit was presented which was witty conveying the message of children‟s day and its importance followed by a melodious group song and then an outstanding dance performance. Teachers relived their childhood sharing their nostalgic moments with students. Art work was also presented in front of students apart from dance, music and martial arts. Our honorable principal sir and Head Mistress Mrs.Mamta Singh wished all the students on this auspicious day. At the end students thanked their teachers who made their day memorable.

Fancy Dress Competition

Tiny tots of Disha Pre-Primary school presented a spectacular event dressed with amazing costumes and accessories in the fancy dress competition held on 15th Nov,16. The children from Nursery to PP-II participated. Children with various themes brought forward some major problems posing threat in our daily life whereas some dressed up as legendary freedom fighters and cartoon characters. The students performed enthusiastically and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Buisness Mela on Children’s Day

On the occasion of the Children‟s Day a Business Mela was conducted on 12th November 2016, by the students of class 11th and 12th Commerce under the guidance of honorable Principal Mr. Dilip Kumar and under the supervision of Mr. S. Haidri ,HOD Comm. The Business Mela was inaugurated by Dr. A.K. Tiwari (Secretary DES).on this occasion Dr. Shailesh Sharma (Vice Principal), Dr. Garima Agrawal (Coordinator), and all the teachers were present. In the Mela there were many Food Counters as well as Games Counters. There was also a coupon counter alongside the Food Counters from where the students and teachers purchased the coupon to enjoy the Mela. The Mela continued till 1 P.M. The total money collected by the sale of coupons was Rs. 30650,out of which Rs. 17922 was refunded as the investments by the counter operators ( Students).The surplus amounted to Rs.12728 was donated to Prime Minister Relief Fund .

Science Exhibition (Primary)

Science Exhibition in Disha Primary School displayed an overwhelming performance from the school students on 15th Nov,16. Many models were exhibited by students using hosusehold goods and the best from waste. Starting from std 1 to std 5 students presented a wide range of science projects which included topics on environment, human body, natural resources, animal life and the list goes on and on. In spite of perpetual learning of concepts such projects help indulge practicality. A perfect bonding of learning and implementing the same could be seen. This science exhibition not only helped the students enhance their learning skills but also furnish their creativity.

Health Check up Programme

‘’Healthy mind lives in a healthy body.’’ Health check-up was organized by the DCHSS, Raipur on 15th and 16th November 2016 for all the students. Renowned doctors of “Suyash Hospital”, Raipur conducted this programme. Its main purpose was to assess normal development of the children, to keep track of immunization schedule and recognize problems early and recommends appropriate precautions and intervention for the good health of children. Spell Bee competition for class 1 and 2

The Spell Bee Competition held at DISHA SCHOOL aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using various words in written expression and to add words to the active vocabulary of students. A thorough orientation was done by the English teachers before the event in the format of the competition. The competition was designed in a pyramid structure enabling every student studying in Grades 1-2 to participate in the event. Motive was to conduct the competition to familiarize children with the spellings and usage of many unfamiliar words.

Workshop on Banking System

A workshop on Banking Affairs was conducted by the team of SBI officials in the gracious presence of the Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and students at seminar hall of Disha College Of Higher Secondary Studies, Raipur. The SBI officials focused mainly on banking transactions under different types of Accounts i. e. 94.3 MY FM “Go Green Campaingn” under

Rangrezz (Class 1 to 10)

To bring out the creativity and the artistic talents among students , a drawing competition “MYFM KE RANGREZ” by 94.3 MYFM was conducted at DCHSS on 16th November 2016, Wednesday from Class 1 to 10.

The topic of this competition was „‟GO GREEN SAVE EARTH‟‟. The competition started at 9:00 a.m. The drawing sheets were distributed to all the students. Then the members of MYFM came to encouraged the students and also told as the details of the competition. The students with bright colours and their imagination started their paintings. Each student drew something different and unique.

Students participated with full of zeal and enthusiasm and proved that they not only excel in academics but also shine in exhibiting their skills by their creative presentations.

Paper Purse Decoration competition To bring out the Creativity and the artistic talent among students ,Paper Purse Decoration Competition held at DCHSS on 26th November 2016, Saturday. The Competition was for Class 6th to 8th. Organized by Pidilite Industries under the observation of Art Teachers , Ms. Chandra Patel , Mr. Kailash Dewangan and respective class teachers. All the students of Class 6 th to 8th Participated with full of enthusiasm. The students were given paper purse by the organizers, and students had to decorate it within 1 hr., they used water colour, glitters, stickers, and stones which adorned the Paper Purse and submitted it to their respective Class Teachers. This competition made a joyful glimpse of the day.

Quiz Competition on Constitution Day

Students of Dishaites celebrated constitutional day on 26th Nov 2016 with pomp and show. The celebration was marked with a number of activities. Quiz competition was organized by the institution in three rounds. Total 40 participants took part in the quiz competition .The competition was held in group wise the four houses were Red, Yellow ,Green and blue. 1.General round 2.Buzzer round 3.Rapid Fire From group 1 Yellow house won the competition and in group 2 Red house won the quiz competition. Healthy Tiffin Competiton

DISHA SCHOOL organized a Healthy Tiffin competition on 29th Nov,16. As healthy Tiffin is essential for our children. All the students brought healthy food e.g. Sprouts, Fruit Salad, Green Salad, and Curd etc. in the lunch box giving the message of 'Eat healthy Stay healthy'. The students were inspired to drink lemon water, lassi, and juice in their meal. They all were very enthralled to participate and had their healthy delicious food.

Mathematic quiz for class 10 was conducted by Mr. Macklin Santiago on 30th of November. Students were divided into four houses, Blue, Red,Green&Yellow. Quiz contains four rounds (basic math‟s, geometry, algebra and buzzer round).Blue house emerges as winner. Seeing the success of Maths quiz another quiz on science was proposed on month of December.

Gift Box making Activity A creative and artistic box making competition was organized by Rangeela Tempera colours from PIDILITE on 30th Nov,16 in Disha Primary School. A gift box was splendidly crafted by the students which was coloured by magical Rangeela colours. The motive behind this activity was to bring a smile on the faces of their near and dear ones when gifted to them. Students participated enthusiastically bringing in water colors, glitters and all possible ways to make this activity a complete blend of creativity and fun.
