Shanghai is China's most comprehensive industrial and commercial city, ranking the first in population density.
With the advantage of policy, capital, technology and human resources, Shanghai has gained a lot by pushing network-convergence ,the number of IPTV user in Shanghai surpassed 1 million at the end of 2009. By taking the chance of Expo 2010 ,telecom operators reconstruct the backbone network by optical fiber and develop many new applications and services, such as Hotel IPTV with the function of remote check-in, booking airline tickets ,ordering food .
Two Typical Models
Ningxia , an under-developed province in northwest of China, is famous for desert and grassland.
Network is vey simple in Ningxia . Telecom optical fiber network is the main infrastructure with seldom any TV cable.Network-convergence proceeds very quickly and successfully by taking full use of telecom optical fiber network while saving a lot of money.Residents and farmers from all2362 villages can watch TV, education lectures and movies, call other people, surf the Internet, get price information ,supply and demand of agricultural products and so on.
