upon. They can lift their upper jaw and move their
lower jaw which allows them to suck up animals in crevices like a vacuum cleaner.
What eats Coelacanths?There are no fish that eat Celocanths.
Where do Coelacanths live?Coelacanths lives along the coastline of the
Indian ocean, and across the east African coast from Kenya to south Africa.
It was discovered off the coast of South Africa in 1938
How do they reproduceThey reproduce like all fish.However Coelacanth babies hatch within
their mother and she give birth to them live.Coelacanths take a year to develop.
Do people eat Coelacanths Although Coelacanths are caught by
fishermen they are not eaten.Coelacanths are caught because they are
where fishermen try to find oilfish.Coelacanths are protected by the government
because they are an endangered species.

of years but their genetics have only changed slightly.
