Introduction Personally, I think Beluga Whales are

really cute! I don’t know about you, but they remind me of dolphins. I hope people could become a little more aware of beluga whales. This project was even a learning experience for me! Hope you like it!

Fun FactsBelugas are also known as white whales.Their Scientific name is Delphinapterus

leucas. It takes 14 months for a beluga whale to

develop inside of it’s mother. The ends of their mouths curve up

creating a permanent “smile”. In Russian, beluga means “White one”.

What do They Eat? A Beluga has to eat 3% of it’s weight

each day. Doesn’t sound like much, right? Well, 3% could be up to 100 lbs! Luckily, their not picky eaters, fish, octopuses, squid, crabs, shrimp, clams, and sea snails are just some of the hundreds of sea animals they are known to eat.

Where do they live? In the ocean, obviously! But where in

the ocean? Belugas are kept in aquariums all over

the world for several reasons, but in the wild they live the frigid waters of the Artic Ocean.

The impact of belugas in the world

WITH Belugas WITHOUT Belugas People can see their

cuteness in zoos. I can write about them in

this report.

It could mess up the food chain.

The whale population would go down.

We’d miss seeing them!
