Black businesses in the UKDespite the severe impact of the recession, black and ethnic minorities continue to energise the UK business market with a high number of people setting up and expanding their businesses and enterprises.
There are over 275,000 businesses that are run by ethnic minorities and contribute £20 billion to the UK economy. In London alone, there are 66,000 ethnic-owned businesses employing 560,000 people and generate a turnover of £90 billion in sales. Their business performance outstrips that of their white counterparts.

About the directory Mavis Amankwah (MD, Rich Visions) and the Rich Visions team have identified a gap in the market for a publication that acknowledges and endorses African and African Caribbean business women and entrepreneurs in the UK whose contribution to the UK economy is largely overlooked.
The Black Women’s Business Directory is a glossy A4 print directory that will feature the profiles of over 100 influential Africans and African-Caribbean owners from various industries and sectors; showcasing how their business ideas have evolved into successful enterprises.
A digital copy of the directory will also be published.
