Come visit and enjoy our spectacular play area at Concordia Leisure Centre, The Zoo! Children can indulge in the use of some fantastic new equipment including inflatables, slides, climbing frames, houses, mini seesaws, soft play shapes and the exciting Meercat Den. And look out for our new Animal 2012 jumping fun.

The Zoo is an ideal venue for children smaller than the Zoo Keeper (1.2m). Meanwhile, as kids are having a ball, mums and dads can relax in the adjoining caged café, in full view of their little ones!

The Zoo is also available for private hire, contact reception for further details.

Diamond Jubilee 2012 Archery contestCome and take part in the South East Northumberland entry level archery tournament, come dressed up in 1950’s - 1960’s costume (not compulsory) and see how you shoot through the tournament. There will be Prizes for winners of various categories U12, U14, U16, U18 U25’s and O25’s. The day will include coaching and practice before the tournament starts. The Pegasus Centre will be packed with activities for you to try while watching or eating from our BBq - Limited spaces. Activity Descriptions

Ability to Play

Rock ClimbingCome and try some new routes on our fantastic indoor climbing wall. Have fun and improve your confidence in the sport of climbing. Learn new knots and climbing skills. Take up the challenge and book soon. Don't miss the chance!

Pegasus AdventureCome and have a fun packed day out at the magnificent Pegasus Riding Centre. The day will include activities such as horse riding/grooming, dino karting, camp crafts, archery, problem solving and much more. Are you up for the challenge? Bus will pick up from Blyth Sports Centre at 9.30am and return approx 3.30pm or you can meet us at the Pegasus Centre at 10am. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring your own packed lunch. Note weight restrictions apply for horse riding. For more information contact Ronnie Scheu.

Paddle SportsCome and enjoy a fun filled day paddling along one of Northumberland's beautiful rivers. Parents are welcome to join in the fun. Please bring a dry change of clothes and all participants must be able to swim 50 meters.

Racket SportsTest your hand-eye coordination in various racket sports such as tennis and badminton. Trained coaches will help you to improve your technique in various skill and game challenges. This is an indoor session. Please bring plenty to drink.

Cinema SpecialAll the fun and excitement of the cinema brought to your doorstep. Come and watch the award winning HUGO on our magnificent big screen. Popcorn and Pic n Mix are available at a discounted rate. Parents are welcome to stay free of charge. Under 8's are also welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Ability 2 Play Activities

BowlingEnjoy 2 hours of non stop bowling action at the fantastic Wentworh Bowl in Hexham. Bus leaves Blyth Sports Centre at 9am or alternatively you can meet us at Wentworth Sports Centre at 10am.

FootballThis session runs every week including term time, come down and join in the action. This is an indoor session.

Play Rangers2 action packed hours of non stop play with our fantastic Play Ranger Team. Come along and join in the fun. This is an indoor play activity.

FreestyleA fantastic session where parents, children and siblings are invited to attend and join in together. The age range is 3-10 yrs but older siblings are welcome. Activities include x-box, soft play, multi-sports and dino pedal karts.

Table CricketThis new and popular game is a fantastic version of cricket. This activity is suitable for people with mobility issues. All are welcome.

AthleticsIt's a great time to get involved in athletics. With the Olympics and Paralympics this year come and take part in various disciplines of athletics from throwing to running and jumping. This is a structured session delivered by Northumberland Athletics Network coaches.

SnookerAre you the next Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan. Come and test your potting accuracy on our full sized snooker tables.

CricketThis session runs every week including term time. Come and test your skills and join in the action. This is an indoor activity.

PlaylandWe have removed the age and height restrictions for playland to give children and young people of all abilities the chance to enjoy our new soft play area in a fun ad safe environment.

Laser BattlefieldCome and enjoy all the fun of paintballing without the pain. Come and shoot your friends in a multitude of team games and tasks. This is an indoor activity and all equipment is provided.

ArcheryThis is a chance for young people to test their accuracy and tackle the art of archery. This activity requires a certain amount of upper body strength. Please war a long sleeved top. All equipment is provided.

Inflatable Fun2 hours of non stop action in the pool. Test your balance along our fantastic inflatables or just come along to have a splash about and swim with your friends. Children must be able to confidently swim 25 meters or be accompanied by a responsible adult.

NUFC Football CampAbility 2 Play has teamed up with the NUFC Football Foundation to bring you a series of football camps. Come and learn from the coaches who teach the pros. Please wear suitable clothing and bring plenty to drink. Match day prizes to the best improved players. Camps running in various locations throughout Northumberland.

Dance CampYou are invited to join our amazing MOVE IT Community dance team. Stay for the day and learn fresh, funky new routines. Places =must be booked in advance. You must brink your own packed lunch and drinks.

Indoor Climbing Please wear loose warm comfortable clothing (no jeans!). Bring a water bottle and trainers or a similar type of footwear. A limited number of climbing shoes for hire are available. All safety equipment is provided including helmets and harness.

Outdoor ClimbingA great opportunity to rock climb in a fantastic location inNorthumberland. Move it Community Dance You are invited to join our amazing MOVE IT Community Dance Camp! Stay for the day and learn fresh, funky routines ready to perform at our Dance Camp Showcase! Drop the children off, have peace of mind that they are having fun in a safe environment and then come along to enjoy their performance! Please note, lunch is not provided so please bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water.

Multi Sport/ Multi Sport ClubAll sessions offer a range of sporting and purposeful play activities in a safe, fun and friendly environment. These sessions also provide a taster into play and various sports, and give young people the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends and most importantly have an enjoyable time. Equipment for all sessions will be provided. Please note outdoor sessions are weather permitting and we reserve the right to cancel sessions if the minimum number of participants is not met.

Mountain BikingAll equipment is provided so just book your place, be prepared to get muddy and enjoy!

Paddle SportsFancy taking a trip down the river these holidays? Well you can with Morpeth Paddlesport Club. Our coach will teach you all the basic skills needed to paddle on River Wansbeck. Please bring spare clothes and a towel! Meet behind Riverside Leisure Centre Morpeth next to the river.

Soft PlayOur soft play sessions will be open for children under the height of 1.2metres. (Under 5 's only at Blyth Sports Centre)

Snorkelling This is an excellent class available to children who can SWIM 25M CONFIDENTLY. Please ensure children are here 15mins prior to this session.

Activity Descriptions

ArcheryThis is a chance for young people to tackle the art of archery. Please wear a long sleeved top. All equipment is supplied.

Athletics CampIt's a great time to get involved in athletics. With the Olympics this year come and take part in all disciplines of athletics from throwing jumping and running. These are structured sessions delivered by the Northumberland athletics network coaches.

BadmintonEither enjoy a game of badminton or learn all about the sport from a qualified badminton coach.

Boot CampBoot Camp provides a fun and challenging way to improve your fitness. Come and take part in our assault circuits, other army type drills and team building tasks to challenge your condition and ability.

Bumpas Fun Club (Children aged 5-8 years old)Based in our Nursery, an ideal chance for smaller children to experience a range of games and activities with children of a similar age and size. All children receive a name badge on entry and the session is fully supervised. Children in this club are not allowed in the swimming pool and should be met by their parents in the foyer at the end of each session.

CricketCome along and learn the fundamentals of cricket. Our coaches will introduce new and develop existing basic cricket skills.

Diddy CampThis is a fun session for younger children involving a variety of games to encourage healthier lifestyles. Activities will include multi-skills, Diddy soccer, soft play, cooking, boxing and many more fun games.

DodgeballDuck, Dodge, Dive, and defend! It is exciting, entertaining and a great sport to play with friends.

Football CampLearn new skills and tricks and compete in small sided games at the end of each session.

GymnasticsThis is an opportunity to try gymnastics in a fun and safe environment. You will have the opportunity to swing around the bars, test your balance on a 4 inch beam, vault over a big table, learn how to do cartwheels and tumble down an 18 metre long fast air track.

Teen GymThis is a chance to access the gym and find out how to use the equipment. A qualified gym instructor will supervise the session. Before using the gym you must have an induction in this allocated time.

*Trampoline CoachingThese sessions are led by a qualified instructor and are designed to give youngsters the opportunity to experience trampolining. All children must wear socks & if possible, comfortable clothing. It is recommended that you bring a drink. No cans please!

Trampolining Book your place and come along and bounce for fun. This session is aimed at beginners to experience the thrill of trampolining or for those that just want a bounce!!

Virtual Dance MatsDance mats - Just like in the arcade, virtual dance mats test your ability in movement to music. Doesn't matter whether you are a great dancer or beginner, you will enjoy virtual dance mats.

Wacky WeekdaysA fully supervised action packed day, filled with activities such as football, dodgeball, racket sports, arts and crafts, virtual dance mats, and more. Weather permitting activities will take place in and outdoors. Bring a packed lunch! All this for a wacky cost and free use of the inflatables between 3.00pm – 4.00pm.

Pegasus Easter adventureCome and have a fun-packed day out at the magnificent Pegasus Centre. The day will include the opportunity to take part in horse-riding, pony-care, kart rides, archery, problem-solving and similar activities. Are you ready for a bit of adventure?

Plessey Easter Outdoor Festival 12 April 2012Loads of fun in the park from early in the morning with the Bungee trampoline set up for you to make your favourite moves, puzzles and games. Build your own rocket competition, face painting, Dyno karts, and much more, and of course the popular Plessey woods Easter duck Race, fun guaranteed!!

7th JuneOutdoor Challenge Festival day will be fun activities for all, thrilling courses and challenges with mountain bike training and races, problem solving for individual and team tasks, navigation and much more. Come and join us for a great day in Plessy woods !!!

Wacky Weekdays JuniorsA fully supervised action packed day for juniors. Take part in a range of fun active sport and play games.

Water WalkerzEver thought about walking on water? Well now you can, thanks to our new water walkerz! Not only can you walk on water, you can run, jump, and flip in these spheres and all without getting wet!

Diamond Jubilee 2012 Archery contestCome and take part in the South East Northumberland entry level archery tournament, come dressed up in 1950’s - 1960’s costume (not compulsory) and see how you shoot through the tournament. There will be Prizes for winners of various categories U12, U14, U16, U18 U25’s and O25’s. The day will include coaching and practice before the tournament starts. The Pegasus centre will be packed with activities for you to try while watching or eating from our BBq - Limited spaces. Please book promptly to avoid disappointment and see who takes the prizes home!!!
