PRINCIPAL MADAM FELICITATED THE SAE SKCET TEAM FOR BAGGING

THE BEST MANEUVERABILITY AWARD

A Team of 25 students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical

and Communication Engineering representing SAE INDIA SKCET Collegiate Club

participated in National Level Tractor Design Competition 2019 organised by SAE

INDIA Southern Section held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology during 22 - 24th

August 2019. Our SAE Team HarvOx got National Level Second Place with a best

timing of 3 minutes 14 seconds and also received a cash prize of Rs.15,000/- in the

maneuverability test.





Vankantram Learning Centre offers an orientation programme to the first BE/B.Tech

students. This programme is organized to familiarize the students with the available

resources, services, facilities etc. offered by our library. Dr.S.A.Fazul Rahiman, Librarian

headed the session and interacted with the students on the best accessibility of the

resources adequately to their own satisfaction. In addition, Digital Library Hands on

training was also provided to access the unlimited resources available.

FIRST YEAR ORIENTATION AT LIBRARY - S&H





Dr.V.Ragavi, HOD, Department of Science and Humanities presented the data collected for

NAAC Criteria 7 – „Institutional Values and Best Practices’ along with executive

summary and extended profile of the Institution. The presentation was done in the presence

of all department Heads. Ideas were shared and pointers were suggested for further

refinement.

The Institute of Indian Foundrymen – SKCET Students Chapter was established in

2014. The club is organizing guest lectures, workshops, seminars and industrial visit to

the students of mechanical engineering. The club is also offering Inplant training in

foundry industries in and around Coimbatore.

The club celebrates Foundry Day during the second week of August every Year in

which social welfare programs viz., Blood Donation Camp, Tree Plantation and Rally on

Pollution Control and Global warming are organized.

Last year, the club organized “IIF Students Conclave" in association with Institute of

Indian Foundrymen, Coimbatore Chapter. Dr.MylswamyAnnadurai, Former Director,

ISRO – Satellite Center was the Chief Guest. Our Principal Dr.J.Janet offered the

felicitations and Dr.Nithyanandhan Devaraaj, Chief Executive Officer, CRI Pumps,

Foundry Business delivered the keynote address.

With the motive of encouraging the students to perform well in CIA 2 and to clarify their

doubts, a special coaching class for the subject “Digital Electronics” was conducted for the

II year ECE students.

M.S with a scholarship of 75% at Chalmers

University of Technology, Sweden. Her area of

specialization is Embedded Electronic System

Design.

Mr.Adhithyan (2014-2018 batch A section) joined

M.S at Carleton University Canada in Electrical

and Computer Engineering





Santhiya S, Swathi K A, Soundarya R, Second year MBA students have successfully

cleared round 1 and have entered round 2 of the national level quiz competition “Sustain

2019 - Sustainable Management Event” organized by IIM – Ahmedabad.

EXTENDED HOUR COACHING CLASS - CSE

As a counter measure taken on the CIA 1 test performance of the students, special coaching

class for the subject "Theory of Computation" was conducted for the III year CSE B

students by Mrs.S.Biruntha, Department of CSE.





Department Meeting was convened by Dr. N Susila, Head of the Department of IT along

with all the faculty fraternity. The following points were discussed:

Special training for non-placed students

Feedback from boot camp students

Motivating the student participants in Codissia Fair to win prizes

Review on Clean and clean project status, TNSTC proposal status and NAD

registration status

Motivating the students for more number of SIH participation
