Application:CELLMaxxTM BSA is useful in immunoassays as a blocking reagent, enzyme stabilizer or as a diluent in buffers.

Protease-free BSA has undetectable levels of protease and has ≥ 97% purity with ≥ 95% total protein, whereas the standard grade BSA has ≥ 94% purity and ≥ 90% total protein.

Low Fatty Acid BSA has fatty acids ≤ 0.05 mg/g protein, and is suitable for assays where lipids may interfere.

RIA BSA has hormones reduced to very low levels by charcoal absorption. It is suitable for assays measuring hormones, e.g. T3, T4 and insulin. RIA BSA has > 97% purity and > 95% total protein.

Bovine fibrinogen has been used in studies of hae-mostatic therapy in surgical and massive trauma patients. These studies have shown that fibrinogen may prove to be more superior in stopping blood loss when compared to using fresh frozen plasma (FFP). It can be used for preparation of fibrin plates for analysis of fibrinolytic enzymes, as a substrate for clotting assays, and to study products derived from of fibrino gen degradation

Bovine Fibrinogen is supplied as a lyophilized pow-der and is plasma is 95% clottable. It can be used for preparation of fibrin plates for analysis of fibrino-lytic enzymes, as a substrate for clotting assays, and to study products derived from of fibrino gen degra-dation.

Fibrinogen is an acute phase protein that is part of the coagulation cascade of proteins. The end result of the cascade is the production of thrombin that converts fibrinogen to fibrin. Thrombin rapidly proteo-lyzes fibrinogen, releasing fibrinopeptide A. Thrombin then cleaves a second peptide, fibrinopeptide B, from fibrin and the fibrin monomers polymerize spontaneously to form an insoluble gel. The in-soluble fibrin aggregates (clots) and aggre gated platelets then block the damaged blood vessel and prevent further bleeding. The amount of fibrino gen in the plasma can serve as a nonspecific indi cator of whether or not an inflammatory process is present in the body. Fibrinogen from any mammalian source will be cleaved by thrombin from any mamma lian source.
