COSÍ FAN TUTTEBy Mozart

One of Mozart’s most popular operas, nobody could denythat the score is sublime – but the plot? Some mightaccuse it of being trivial, even silly. On the face of itperhaps it is. A frothy soufflé of fun! We are led to believethat two boyfriends come back in disguise and theirfiancés are totally taken in by this and allow themselves tobe seduced by the imposters. Once the deception isrevealed, the implication is that life reverts to normal. Butdoes it? Life is not that easy and the audience will be putthrough every gamut of emotion in this seemingly simple, but actually complex story, with Mozart’s music soaringand plummeting, gloriously reflecting every change ofmood.

To commemorate 100 years since the start of World WarOne, the opera will be set in the early summer of 1914 –just before the outbreak of the Great War.

Sung in English with a live orchestra.

‘A resounding success – light and sunny and very funny. The two girls looked like sisters and sang like angels’ –What’s On in London

ASPECTS OF LOVEMusic by Andrew Lloyd WebberLyrics by Don Black and Charles HartBased on the novella by David Garnett

A joyful, edgy, tumultuous romance extolling youth and love.

Set in France, the intricate and thought provoking plot charts thetangled relationships of two Englishmen, Alex and his artist uncleGeorge, with three women: a French actress Rose, an Italiansculptor Giulietta and Rose’s daughter Jenny, a young girlblossoming into womanhood in a hot-house atmosphere ofintertwined lives and loves. The show explores how their actionsare compelled by their emotions and how their affairs convert themany ‘aspects of love’ into a Journey of a Lifetime. There aremultiple infidelities, multiple lovers - and multiple implications.
