API Access
For those companies that have one available, we integrate with an API. This allows us to gather ticket information in real time and direct users straight to the check out page on the company’s website.
Manual Entry
Many bus companies don’t have APIs. In that case we can manually enter their routes. This is not ideal because inventory is not updated in real time (i.e. we wouldn’t know if a ticket is sold out). Also, users are sent the bus companies home page and need to re-enter their search.
Web Scrape
For some companies we can scrape their site and show their inventory. Of course we would need permission to do this, but it is possible. We are talking with GoToBus about using this as an option to partner.
