the mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Donations to tRF are used for international humanitarian and educational programs
Financial assistance. the Rotary Foundation is a tax deductible not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
Arch C. Klumph Society Cumulative gifts totalling uS$250,000 qualify for membership of the Arch C. Klumph Society. Qualifiers are invited to an induction ceremony at Rotary International headquarters in Evanston uSA, and their pictures and biographies are installed in the Arch C. Klumph Society interactive gallery.

DIK collects, sorts, packs, dispatches and distributes donated items to countries in need of these goods.Friends, family and community-minded volunteers have helped Donations In Kind distribute large quantities of unneeded goods from generous businesses and individuals partnering with Rotary, - to those trying to find their feet again.
Equipment needed includes items for schools and hospitals or medical centres. Furniture, surplus office supplies and equipment (in good condition) no longer needed in our schools and hospitals may often be welcome in developing countries. Financial assistance for storage and container transport.

Disaster Aid Australia delivers humanitar-ian aid in the form of shelter, water treat-ment (10,000 litres per day for ten years) and solar lighting to ensure survivors of disasters are given an opportunity to rebuild their shattered lives - rebuilding communities – with dignity – together.
A tax deductible donation of $800 provides a Family Survival box com-prising a large family size tent and the basic necessities to rebuild – each box containing blankets, a stove, children’s activity sets, additional mosquito netting, rebuilding tools i.e. hammer, saw, shovel and many other vital items.

Shelterbox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, and life saving humanitarian aid to people around the world who have been made homeless by disaster.
Financial assistance (tax deductible). A Shelterbox can be sponsored for A$1,000. the Shelterbox goal is to help 500,000 people every year to provide a family with an emergency survival kit.

Aquabox rapid response provides safe drinking water and welfare aid items in the wake of man-made and natural disasters. It is a lifesaving water tank with water filters and water treatment tablets that can convert up to 2,000 litres of polluted water into safe drinking water. the boxes also contain other emergency aid items to reduce the suffering.

About half the world’s population (3.3 billion) live in areas that have some risk of malaria transmission and one fifth (1.2 billion) live in areas with a high malaria risk. In 2006, there were 247 million malaria cases in 109 countries and territories, causing 1 million deaths.
Finance needed. while the vast majority of cases are recorded in sub-Saharan Africa, the Solomon Islands has the world’s highest per capita incidence of malaria.

For nearly 30 years, Interplast Australia & new Zealand has delivered surgical and allied health services in developing countries in the Asia/Pacific region by providing free medical treatment and training. Each member of an Interplast program is fully qualified in their field of expertise and volunteers their time to participate in an Interplast program.
Financial assistance. Interplast volunteers provide free treatment to people living with a disability from congenital conditions such as cleft lips and palates, or acquired conditions such as burns scar contractures. treatment is targeted to people in developing countries who would otherwise not be able to access services.

Operation Cleft provides free cleft lip and palate repair surgery to underprivileged children in Bangladesh. there are around 300,000 people with an untreated cleft in Bangladesh. 3,000 – 4,000 babies are born with a cleft each year. Over 5,600 cleft repair operations have been completed since the project’s inception in August 2005.
Financial assistance. the Fund is an approved tax Concession Charity in Australia and has Deductible Gift Recipient status with the Australian tax Office. Operation Cleft is administered by the Operation Cleft Australia Foundation trust, a fund managed by the Rotary Club of Box hill Central.

Construction of wheelchairs for disabled children in developing countries (designed to whO recommendations), - adjustable to suit the different sizes and growing needs of children and a large number of recipients with cerebral palsy. the package also contains a knitted knee rug, a multi layered cushion, a tool kit and a few spares. without a wheelchair a child can be housebound and a burden for a carer, usually the mother.
Financial Assistance. the current production rate is on average 3,000 wheelchairs per annum with a target of production rate of 5,000 wheelchairs per annum. Each wheelchair costs $140. Since 1998 the project has delivered 21,468 wheelchairs.

ROMAC is a program of the Rotary Districts of Australia and new Zealand. It has provided over 400 children from 20 developing countries with life saving and or dignity restoring surgery not available in their own country. Many eminent Australian surgeons generously donate their time free for the treatment of ROMAC patients.

Currently focusing on mental health research, Australian Rotary health has provided close to $27 million to medical research since 1981 as a result of the kind donations of its supporters. Mental health is Australia’s third biggest health problem – after heart disease and cancer. Close to one in five adults in Australia are affected by a mental health problem within a 12 month period.
Financial Assistance (tax deductible). ARh acts as a catalyst for projects that will improve the quality of life for those least able to assist themselves and, also to fund areas of commu-nity health not being funded by government. ARh raises donations and invests this money to provide grants for worthy research projects in the medical and health arenas.
