Overview: SAP Business Partner is designed to utilize technical benefits such as data integrity
and freedom from data redundancy, and to place greater emphasis on aspects relating to customer maintenance and acquisition of new customers.
SAP customers have been using Financial Accounting for a long time and are now increasingly using other applications, such as ◦ SAP Collections Management (FSCM-COL), ◦ SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM)◦ Loans Management (FS-CML)
which uses the SAP Business Partner to manage business partners. These customers require business partners that are managed as
customers/vendors in Financial Accounting and as business partners in other applications.
Structure of BP:
• The standard business partner categories are:• Natural person (private individual)• Group (e.g. married couple, shared living arrangement)• Organization (e.g. company, department in a company, club,
association)• It is not possible to create any other business partner categories.• Business partner also can be created thru Customer / Vendor
master data based on the master data synchronization setup• Business partner master data will be controlled by BP Roles,

Use of BP:◦ One can create and manage business partners centrally for different business
transactions. This is of prime interest if a business partner plays different roles for a company, such as sold-to party and ship-to party.
◦ One can create a business partner in different business partner roles. No new data has to be created each time, meaning that redundant data creation and retention is avoided.
◦ By using SAP business partner, it is possible to merge the partner data already held by a company in more than one systems in such a way that the potential for new contracts within the same customer contact can be identified. When one enters data, the data related to SAP business partner and the application specific data are integrated seamlessly on the processing screen

Master Data Synchronization
Master Data Synchronization:
Master data synchronization • Business Partner can be created automatically if customer is created from the FI
side. • Advantages• Master data is always created thereby saving time and preventing redundancy.• Same number range for the customer and the Business Partner, prevents
confusion for the collections and accounts receivable team to identify the customers
Activities required for Master Data Synchronization• SAP provides synchronization objects for BP and Customers. The required
programs are in place and there is no need to create new synchronization objects. A check is required to see if the configuration has both BP and customers
• Activate PPO request for platform objects in the dialog. In the event of a synchronization error, a post processing request is written to the platform objects (for example — BP)

Activate Synchronization options From this configuration we can specify synchronization options that we want to activate.
