Yearbook Staff Job Description

The yearbook staff will work together in all capacities to collaborate on the Adrian College Yearbook. Instead of assigning specific “titles” to each member of the staff, each staff member will be assigned various tasks in different areas to complete. Tasks will be discussed as a staff and with the advisor, Cindy Schmucker, to create a satisfactory experience for everyone involved. Sample task items include, but are not limited to: editing, photography, writing, layout design and distributing yearbooks. Staff members will be required to perform dual roles. Every staff member is responsible for completing their assigned pages, which includes, but is not limited to the following: page design, placing pictures, writing captions, tagging pictures, and proofing. Pages will be given deadlines based on the content of the page, these deadlines must be met. Evaluations of staff members performance will be given in November. Photographers will be responsible for attending events assigned by the advisor. They will also be responsible for the following: After each event the photographer will review the pictures taken, delete bad pictures, upload the pictures to the Josten’s Image Library, label the people in the picture, and email the advisor and staff that the pictures are uploaded. The deadline for photographers is one week following the event. Photographers will be assigned a maximum of four pages. All staff members are work-study – each person may have only one work-study job. Your hours per week will depend on events taking place on campus. Some weeks will be eight to twelve hours and others will be six and a half hours. Photographers will be required to spend one to two hours per week in the office uploading, tagging and reviewing photos, and meeting with Cindy Schmucker.

Career Planning Program Assistant

Job Description

Position Summary

Work as a Program Assistant for Michigan International Speedway and Adrian College Program. This partnership brings area schools (elementary, middle, and high school) to Michigan International Speedway for a field trip experience. Adrian College Students will direct programs for these groups and the Program Assistant will provide clerical support services between the two groups. Scheduling will be done in the Career Planning Office.

Plant Campus Employment Job Description

Student workers at Plant do a variety of work ranging from picking up trash, edging sidewalks, watering flowers, weeding flower beds, picking up sticks, planting flowers, to shoveling snow. Students are required to work between the times of 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday. Most of the jobs assigned are grounds positions but we also have custodial positions which would involve cleaning in Academic buildings and resident halls as needed.
