Frequently-Asked Questions/Issues

1. Is 1G really required on my machine?

No. 512M and 256M, while not supported by the vendor, are working with the product in our lab and will be supported by CSDW

2. Can you please tell me what I need to enter in the System box on the login screen.?

Direct the user to the User Tools and Information link from the home page of the Data Warehouse. The directions for logging into the system are location in the BO XI Training document under Getting Started, Logging In. The actual answer to the question is System is left blank, but the user should be reading the training document instead of calling.

3. I can’t find the User Tools and Information on the log in screen.

The link is actually on the Data Warehouse “home page”. This is the link that was given in the Dear County Director Letter. Most are trying to find the link on the screen where they actually type in their userid and password.

4. My personal documents are not in the new version.

We have had a couple of instances where the conversion did not bring over some or all of a user’s personal documents. Contact Walt or Michelle and have them look into the problem.

5. How do I print my report:

Many will notice that they can right click on their mouse and see a print option. This is NOT the print option of BO but rather like printing a window on a web page. The users will need to first save the document to their computer and then print. It has been noticed that saving to an Excel document is the best way to save and then print the report. If they ask the steps to save a document, refer them to the training documentation in the Managing Documents, Editing documents section.

6. I can’t find the “Corporate Documents” in the new version. Where are they?

There is no longer a “Corporate Documents” area. Please refer them to the training documentation in the Getting Started, New Terminology section. What were listed in the Corporate Documents in 5.1.9 are now called Public Documents in XI. They will be found by drilling through the Public Folders they have access to.

7. When looking at my universes, it tells me that I have insufficient privileges.

This is normal and done by design. It does not restrict user from using their listed universes.

Frequently-Asked Questions/Issues

It simply means they do not have View privileges on the parent folder of the universe.

If they had View privileges on the parent folder they would see all CSDW Universes as we only have one parent folder for all Universes.

Only Administrators and CSDW Maintenance & Operations have that privilege.

If you are confused by this we are talking about the Universe Screen that appears when you create a new Web Intelligence Document.

8. IE Information Bar blocks downloads such as Excel. If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, you may see a yellow information bar appear at the top of the window which says: “To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from  downloading files to your computer..  Click here for options.”

To continue saving the document you must click on the yellow information bar and select Download File...; then click Open or Save.

To avoid this message and extra steps for each attachment, you can change your Internet Explorer settings.

The impact of using the disable option is this will allow any downloads you select and the respond Save. If you were to click the allow option on the information bar as you are now doing you would do this anyway and all you have eliminated is the extra click for Allow.

To change you Internet Explorer settings,

1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.3. Make sure the "Internet" zone is selected. It is the first zone and has an icon that is a world

globe.4. On the Security tab, click Custom Level. 5. To turn off the Information Bar for file downloads, in the Downloads section of the list

(about one third way down the list), under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.
