The Centre for Business Incubation and Entrepreneurial Ventures (CBIEV) is set up specifically to steer the development and direction of the innovation, incubation and entrepreneurial initiatives at TAR UC. We are a resource for TAR UC Community (students, staff, alumni) and public who are interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. We capitalise on the ability of our students, staff, alumni and public to be entrepreneurial thinking and to embark on entrepreneurship.

Ignited by great ideas, faculties, students, alumni and the public turn innovative concepts into scalable and sustainable businesses. This brings entrepreneurial development to TAR UC thus transforming TAR UC to become an entrepreneurial university.

TAR UC has set up our very own TARC Incubator under Division of Business Incubation in CBIEV, which was launched on 20 June 2016. TARC Incubator aims to accelerate the transformation of ideas to marketable innovations. We focus on digital and technology based start-up companies for TAR UC community and public.

TARC Incubator is developed based on an ecosystem concept, whereby ecosystem partners are strategically sourced in providing the ultimate service for the start-ups. Our ecosystem consists of the following components:

We are located at Levels 5 & 6 of SA Block, East Campus at Kuala Lumpur Main Campus. The Centre also houses a co-working space, a pitching hall, a networking lounge, an administration office and meeting rooms. INBOUND AND OUTBOUND STUDENT MOBILITY PROGRAMMESWe organise both inbound and outbound student mobility programmes which range from 1 week to 4 weeks. With our strong links with partner institutions and organisations overseas, we offer unique opportunity for students to combine an overseas travel and cultural experience with studies focusing on various aspects of study areas. TAR UC students have travelled to countries like Australia, China, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam on such student mobility programmes. Likewise, we host students from overseas under inbound student mobility programmes and the students are from Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, United Kingdom and Vietnam.

The entrepreneurial venture initiative supports entrepreneurial activities to operate on campus with a variety of key activities:

SAU works closely with partner institutions to organize talks, workshops, Information Day and Student Placement Day on a regular basis to enable students to meet up with the universities’ representatives to explore their options in overseas education.

STUDENT PLACEMENT SERVICES TO OVERSEAS INSTITUTIONSThe Study Abroad Unit (SAU) is the gateway for TAR UC community and public to further study in prestigious partner universities around the world, mainly in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Korea and United Kingdom.

We are a one-stop centre that offers complete placement services to assist students to explore their study options and provides students with all of the information and guidance they need to live and study abroad, from visa application to travel and accommodation arrangements.

CORPORATE MOBILITY PROGRAMMESThe Centre has extensive experience in organising corporate mobility programmes for the past five years. With strong international engagement, we receive corporate clients from overseas under the corporate mobility programme. Increasingly, organisations are having programmes initiatives set up in APAC region, requiring them to train their staff for the job. With such market change, organisations need to customise corporate mobility programmes to prepare a ready pool of employees to meet this industrial trend.

CBIEV manages the advertising management and marketing campaign for digital platform of TAR UC which includes websites and social media. We are also managing a job portal namely JobsTARC to link employers with potential candidates from TAR UC community and public. We create the avenue for businesses to reach out to TAR UC community and public.

Finishing School programmes are strategic training and development to improve the employability of human resources within the global industry. We leverage on the industry experts to provide short-term training on current industry best practice and cutting edge technology for our students. We continue to explore and work closely with the industry to bring in relevant training and technologies to our students.
