iPhone setup for new users.

1) Before doing anything, please ensure that you insert your sim card into the sim tray, you can do this by using a needle(most often found in the packaging) and opening the area in the picture below

2) Upon switching on the iPhone, you will be greeted with a screen that will say hello in a few languages. Click the home button, this is where you will be prompted to choose your region(this is important as it will decide which countries apple store you will be connecting to)

3) The next step is to connect to a wifi source. On older iPhone models, this is necessary for activation as it does not connect to 4G straight away. Newer iPhones do not have this issue, however it is still recommended in order to speed up activation. You will then be prompted with a screen that will ask if you want to enable location services(this is a personal preference, so choose accordingly).

4) You will then be taken through some security options. On an iPhone you have the option to setup Touch ID, or to use a passcode for access, this is a personal preference and can be skipped for later review.

5) Next is the important step, creating an Apple ID. Once you have completed the previous step, the iPhone will direct you to the next screen. For those new to iPhone, click “Setup as new iPhone”, after which it will ask you to enter an Apple ID. If you do not have an Apple ID, click the option below where it says “Don’t have an Apple ID?”

6) Next it will ask you to enter some security information, such as your birthday, your full name etc. However next it will ask you to select one of two options. Either to use your existing email address as your Apple ID, or to create a free iCloud email address. Please note that it is more convenient to use your own personal email to ensure that you are never locked out of your account.

7) Finally you will be asked to enter your email address, to create a password, and to create security answers in case your email cannot be accessed. Ensure that each question is memorable for security purposes. Upon completing these steps you will then have to agree to the terms of use.

8) And Voila! You now have a brand new iPhone.
