DENHAM SPRINGS — Empire Furniture offers elegant bedroom, living and din-ing room furniture and accessories.
The new furniture store, located at 115 Aspen Square, also sells rugs, mattresses, lamps, picture frames and more.
In addition to sales and discounts, Empire Furniture also offers financ-ing at no interest, layaway services and rent at low prices.
Owner Isam Farahat has seven years experience in the furniture business.
“After the great experience I re-ceived, I knew it was time to open my own business,” Farahat said.
“We deal with over 12 companies to offer customers a wide variety of selections in furniture and more,” Farahat said.

MAUREPAS — Brian’s Grocery is a full service grocery store and deli with fresh meat cut daily and a large selection of wine.
Now located at 18736 La. 22, Brian’s Grocery now has a fresh peanut butter
machine and a fresh orange juice ma-chine.
The store is owned by Brian and Mandy Wederstrandt and managed by Bryce Bourgeois, all of Maurepas.
“It has always been a dream to open a
grocery store for my community,” Brian said.
Brian has worked for a major grocery chain for 16 years in a manager’s posi-tion. Brian’s Grocery is open seven days a week.
| DENHAM SPRINGS — Sheriff Jason Ard and District Attorney Scott Perrilloux will address the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce general membership lunch be-ginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 at Forrest Grove Plantation. Ard will talk about his first year in office, crime trends and the economic impact of crime on the business community. Perrilloux will discuss crime and business issues from the perspective of the prosecutor for the three-parish 21st Judicial District that includes Livingston, Tangipahoa and St. Helena parishes in the heart of the fastest-growing region in Louisiana.
